@Darman: So we can load all of JeanLuc's .tpf files into ME3 (save for Garrus and Jack) and they would work?

They have to be unarchived from the TPF format and remade into TPFs for ME3 with the correct codes.

No you don't need to do that. Just load for example the Tali Mod and it will work. But it wouldn't work for Garrus because they changed his appearance. It just works for Tali and Samara, I think.

Thats impossible.

The textures for ME2 are logged in the Tex.log file as MassEffect2######. For ME3, they would have to have a MassEffect3 code.

Wouldn't it be easier if you took Miranda's high res textures from JeanLuc's ME2 mod?

I tested using the texture of ME2 (very good job at that), but I did not like how it looks in ME3, but if someone wants to reuse, you can do. Anyway I will do one to my liking and will share in the post.

I got Tali to work in Mass Effect 3. As well as Legion.

Curious. I'll do some experiements when it's not 3:15 AM and...well... lets just leave it at that.

As for the new Miranda texture...I think the problem is in her bump map. It looks too smooth. Again, not that I can do any better. I'm just spoiled.

I know, the texture turned out not perfect, but I did not edit those layers of relief.

Anyway, it looks much better than the default.

If anyone knows how, should edit and share.

First thing that came up when I searched how to make a bump map.

Don't know if it'll help.

hmmm, for some reason lately every time I use more than a couple of these HR mods(most noticeably the HR Shepard Armor/Helmet), my computer CTD's every single time, usually during the loading screens. Any suggestions as to why that might be? Or what I can do to stop it from happening?

I'm having difficulty getting this to work. I have renamed the texmod exe to masseffect3 and when attempt to start the game via origin, origin will say that the game is not installed. Simiarly with the ME3 shortcut it will acutally redirect the file directory to the renamed ME3 exe! If I attempt to rename the extension to Masseffect3 it will shoot back an error that states it doesn't exist (even though clearly it does..)

attempting to run textmod by itself and running the ME3 exe will not launch the application either.

edit; I solved the problem, as I'm sure has been discussed the directions are accurate, and I was following the procedure to do this based off what worked for ME1/ME2. Which simply was to replace the ME exe with textmod and keep the real ME EXE (named differently) in the same folder.

This will not work

You litertally have to have the ME3 folder open, remove the ME3 exe, replace it with the renamed textmod exe, start ME3 via origin, *then* rename the textmod exe back to something different and replace the real ME3 exe in the folder.

What an utter PIA

Did you rename BOTH the masseffect3.exe and the texmod.exe?

Also make sure that once you have the texmod launch through origin, that you switch back the names of the .exe's

I fixed it. The method I was using worked for steam ME2 and regular ME1 but ME3 is acutally a more involved procedure and I was trying to over-think it instead of just following directions LOL.  thanks for the quick reply!

CTD?

I should mention, that I also used LLA to fix the 2GB memory restiction and allow the game to use 3GB of ram.

I needed to do this with ME1 so that I could run more text mods. Maybe you two need to do this as well? Just google Large address aware and run the application on the ME3 exe

Using LAA on 32 bit allows you to use full 3300 mb not changing the code and allowing to use more then 3300mb ,using LAA can cause system to tell you that you are out of memory and losing data within the game , i think that's normal , but it will tell you that only when you hit the limit .

for those of you who don't know, CTD stands for "Crash To Desktop" :)

Also I'll try blmlozz's idea, and see what I get.

Anyone know how to fix my problem? Basically the controls don't work, this happened after loading textures for the first time. Only up and down movement works no left or right neither does the mouse work.

My experiment with Crazy Bump resulted in this. It's a bit extreme but the program is incredibly easy to use.

Hi, thanks for these amazing texture works! And the FXAA tool is terrific too!

However can I ask for your help on customizing the FXAA settings since there are too many options? Its a great mod but is really dark on my screen. Is there any single option I can set to brighten the game while still retain the rest of the FXAA mod?

I'm glad you have served as published in the Post.
To increase the brightness you have 2 options:
1. In game graphics options you increase the brightness (I use +3).
2. In fxaa_tool.exe, in the section "Tonemap" moves the parameters "Bleach" and "Fog".
