Thanks for all the positive feedback on Jack, I'm glad to see so many of you like it. Church and JeanLuc deserve a ton of credit for it, so I'd like to thank them again.

Next on the mod list is Thane and Kolyat. Didact contacted me a little while ago to help out with a port he was working on of Thane and Kolyat based on JeanLuc's Thane textures from ME2, so big thanks to the both of them. Finally we have mods for the Krios family and we've gotten 3 key characters in 24 hours. Huge win, enjoy guys.

Kolyat:

MUCH better then anything I managed to churn up for Thane's jacket.

I've been trying for awhile though to get the hexagon panels to look RAISED rather then sunken like in this pic. Best look at what I'm talking about is on his leg.

Just did the memorial service for Thane with that outfit on Kolyat. Looks incredible. Also using the Jack outfit too. Thanks Darkest Soul and those who helped on the projects. :wizard:

Smartecks' skydrive is basically that. You can just right click on the folder and download the whole lot. Someone also made a torrent containing all the textures here a week ago I think. Should be a few pages back.

@MACharlie1: Yeah man, the normal map can be super difficult to get to do what you want it to do. That's a good idea though, I hadn't thought about raising them or sinking them when I made the normal, maybe I'll try and make a new one and raise them. Glad you like it though. Glad you enjoyed them as well Gravity.

I created this torrent for 95% of them. The other ones are a few posts back in this thread.

Really happy that we finally have textures for Thane and Kolyat, I've been waiting on them a long time.

One concern though... there seems to be some detail lost in the mods? For instance, there's some lines engraved on their necklaces in the vanilla textures that don't seem to have been carried over in the retextures. I haven't installed them myself so I can't tell, but from the screens provided it almost seems like there was some detail lost in the scaling on their faces as well?

I really wish I had the knowledge to do this stuff myself, I'd love to help. Somehow I feel like I'm being ungrateful in pointing these things out but I'm really super appreciative of all the hard work you guys and gals are doing for the community! Thank you so much!

Now when I have tried a few; Don't anyone else think that many texture are to glossy?

Just look at the Vorsha texture, his skin is shining like newly polished fake leather. Frankly in my opinion every single one of the character have a too lustrous  finish.

And the most weapon have a far too "clean"  and shining surface which make the weapon look like plastic. They should be "weather-beaten" and have the same shine as the original weapon. And many of the weapon have weird colors schemes. I think I can do it myself, but I'm too lazy/don't have time for that.  :P

some textures are not perfect becouse we are just gamers and not digital artist or something like that... :P But i really prefer that shining or a some plastic textures for my game and not that Minecraft default textures. :D

About Citadel Pack I'm finishing some textures in Armax Arena, but i do not have unlocked the new armors, so maybe that will not be included in the Pack... After that I will work on Miranda and then I will Try to improve that Car that is showed in some cinematics...

 I'm finished!
The weapon mod textures are all uploaded and ready. I probably gonna combine those mods into one so it's easier to manage. Gonna be up tomorrow or the day after.

I hate that car.

Thank you for your contribution to mankind. >_>

---

That Armax armor might be good as a separate download instead of the main pack, if you do make it -.the file sizes are probably starting to get quite large.

OMG yes please, that car is horrible. Ruins the scenes, can't stop looking at the big pixles. Also hoping the blue Javik will be released soon™ :D

Hi everyone,

I wanna play to ME2 with Texmod but my framerate is very instable everytime I use it. Any solution ? With ME3, i added few lines in the Gamersettings.ini file and it works perfectly but not with ME2. I use an ATI graphic card.

Not to be rude or presumptuous, but you posted this here, which implies to me that you know that there is a way.
I'd be glad to help :)  Mass Effect 2 and ATI cards don't play well together, leaving you with 3 options. 1) Don't use texture mods (Which is boring and obviously not what you want).  2) Umod. Similar to texmod, but works on the fly. Has its issues but works well enough.  3) ME3Explorer. This allows you to replace the original textures with these High res ones, and make the game engine do the heavy lifting. Its a bit of a learning curve, but I'm lead to believe it works very well. (I've done it for ME3 and its beautiful).

Y'know, it's funny - I've had an ATI card for years and use Texmod with all three ME games - never had an issue. Sometimes a texture layout (like it might appear in the editing software) will pop in (easily fixed - tab out, back in), but other than that, not a single significant problem.  Worked like a charm on XP, like a charm in Win7 and works like a champ in Win8, and I have a pretty standard PC. I can load Texmod with the max number of textures and we're talking the big-ass textures here - and all three games load in under five minutes.

I really have to wonder what I'm doing differently.

The one time I used ME3Explorer - and followed all the instructions to the letter - I had to reinstall my whole game because it screwed it so hard.

I must have a mutant PC or copy of the trilogy or something...

Mine works fine for ME1 and 3, but both my ATI cards hate ME2.  I've heard its got to do with the drivers and the way ATI deals with injection, but I don't really know.  Guess you're just lucky.

I too have broken my game a few times with ME3Explorer...Looots of copying files back and forth.

Considering I've played all three many, many times, and have never really had a problem... well, I just wish I had that kind of luck when it came to lotteries.  ;)

Well, also considering how bleed'n long it takes to reinstall ME3 and all the DLC,  I just don't have that kinda time.  I'll try it again when someone comes up with one that doesn't require me to have three programming degrees.  <_<

Not that I don't appreciate folks' efforts. One helluva lot of talented folks here.

Still, I really miss the old UT99/2K4 days when games had a billion cool user-made mods and maps and guns and on and on - and they were free and not some half-crap 15 buck add-on that adds almost nothing.

Ah, nostalgia...

That's why the very first thing to do is backup everything so you don't have to reinstall, just rename ^_^
I do understand however.  I for som reason, have fun messing with such things, but I know most people don't.  Salt and a few other people have been making those .mod files where you just open them and voila!  I can't wait :o
