Ok, I'm going to assume a few things first.
1) You have an unaltered version of the game, no sweetfx, no illumination mods, no other additions to the game other than texmod stuff.
2) You correctly applied the LAA patch to umod.exe and MassEffect3.exe.
3) You have umod version 49, NOT 53.
4) You're using 'start through umod' and you haven't copied d3d9.dll to where masseffect3.exe is.

Once those are done, you just start umod through origin like texmod, rename the files, and start me3 through umod. Once its started, you can add mods to the umod window by dropping and dragging. You'll have to enable tpf support through by right clicking in the umod window.

EDIT:  If you have more questions, better PM me so we don't clog up this thread.

Does anyone know how to run the HiRes packages using texmod without having to load it all up every time? and I seem to only be able to have a cap of 40 packages, and not be able to "install/load" more than that like the original poster claims. Sorry if this came up earlier, but 200+ pages is just too much to read....

@RetroInferno: Most of these textures exist now in .MOD formats, which can be easly installed through ME 3 explorer directly in the game files, so no more loading time for those. For the rest of the textures - which were not converted into .MODs - you can still use texmod, hopefully there will be a lot less .tpfs and the cap of 40 packages wont be a problem anymore.

You can't PM anyone that's not in your friendslist anymore.

I requested you asa friend but my question is I think it works now but one mod I load is the menu change and I have to load a save then exit to the menu will all my mods require a restart or similar? Also It works but I have some weird issues. Before I start my memory usage is around 2.00 gigs and under 6 before I start the game yet I have some freezing issues where it sticks momentarily then wonky eyes and no lip movement. Ideas?

Therein lies the problem with umod. It does everything on the fly, so when you load the menu, it probably hasn't finished loading all the mods. Leave it at the 'click to proceed' screen for a while and see if that works.
As for the freezing stuff, unavoidable I'm afraid :( Cutscenes get messed up by umod something chronic, but it's almost worth it.
I'd try taking some of the strain off loading by using ME3Explorer to put things like sheps armor and stuff in permanently.

EDIT:  Also found your friend request.

@RetroInferno: The .MOD files can be downloaded from here: http://me3explorer.w...shed .mod Files , there is quite a large selection of textures, I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for. I also suggest visiting Ottemis' HQ textures thread, there also are wonderful textures, most of them available in .MOD format: http://social.biowar...ndex/16260765/1

And last, but not least, download the ME 3 Explorer from here: http://sourceforge.n...ts/me3explorer/

You can also try using the Mass Effect 3 HR Project by saltisgood, it containts several high-res textures (mostly Smarteck's creations) and it uses a simple installer: http://social.biowar...m/project/8589/

I hope this helps.

Captain proton posted a bunch of stuff that should be helpful. Basically get a .mod file and run it in modmaker. The genius' over there have turned what used to be a painful procedure into a simple one.

EDIT:  There's also a tutorial section on the ME3Explorer website, and a bunch of threads here on it.

I am away and can't test it but if I use explorer for most and use umod(texmod keeps screwing up my dlcs auth) will I still have the cinematic bugs?

You'd have some bugs in the dlc parts of the game, but probably less than before. Unfortunately dlc editing isn't working properly in me3explorer yet, so you can't really fix it that way either.
Just have to deal with it for now.

@shep82 don't forget to update me3 with the SVN,you can find a tutorial on how to do that on me3 explorer site in tutorial section (actually the site seems unreachable,so i can't give you a link of that) the sourceforge version of Me3 explorer is old so it can give some problems

My main problem is texmod. After I load all my mods instead of connecting to thr server it tries to authorize the dlcs first which of course fails.  Does the same if I play offline but if I run a few it loads correctly. I have all of smartecks mods and I run ss many as the current spot in game as I can. Umod causes grsphical glitches so the only thing I can think of is use explorer as much as possible and only run the dlcs and his locayion textures.  I really want to avoid umod so I'm hoping just running a few in texmod will eork other than thst I guess I have to suffer a few glitches unlesd you have sn idea.

Texmod is old as hell, now we can replace permanently the textures with texplorer, why don't you do it? Anyway regarding these dlcs authorization..it could happen because of texmod, maybe it interferes. I suggest you to leave texmod and use me3 explorer to replace the texures,it's easier, doesn't give any kind of problem and you don't waste time, the only problem regarding me3 is  related about the dlc repack after you apply a dlc texture but don't worry there is a solution.Anyway if you want, add me and we will talk about this in private,i have a few ideas for you.

The more textures you load (the bigger the filesize), the longer it takes to start up. EA will time out beyond a certain amount of time passed. AKA unless you optimize your load or reduce it otherwise you'll keep having auth issues with the DLC. As has been suggested, ME3Explorer the basegame and use texmod for anything that remains until DLC replacements work properly for permanent replacements too via .MOD files.
