Thank you. The smooth skin seemed out of place to me.

smarteck; great work. I've been using your mods for a while but I just discovered that the last update to Origin must have broken something since the renaming method of loading ME3 through texmod no longer works properly - the mods load but the game will not authorize any DLC. If I start the game without texmod, everything works fine. So I'm guessing Origin is detecting the tampering done by texmod and doesn't connect ME3 to the authorization servers.

Sorry.. I´m late :P... but that problem is old for some users.. on first page (in problems area) you can find the solution posted by other user (visionazzery)...

Good luck ! ;)

The previews show that this is clearly a fantastic enhancement, but for some reason it breaks my mouse control every time.  I use texmod A LOT with no problems, I have done extensive mods using coalesced editor(s), me3explorer, etc.. including with DLCs (mixed results due to DLC being invalidated sometimes) -- but the SWeetFX mod - while it executes fine and appears to alter the illumination as advertised - breaks my mouse control.  The mouse pointer disappears entirely, while mouse movement "gestures" do affect menu selection, but inconsistently.. bottom line is I can't use it, since mouse is needed to play.  Using an ASUS G55VW with a fast quad-core (i7 3630QM), 8gb mem, and a 2GB Geforce GTX 660M that is extremely capable for the game (performance is excellent - high FPS with virtually ALL graphics options maxed).

I am not knocking the mod -- I've used tons of Smarteck's texture mods, etc.. and he is a STAR Contributor -- dude kicks ass.   I really wish I could get SweetFX to work.  I will be trying the FXAA Tool/thing (it seems to be an alternative - will see ..).  I searched all over for information or to see if others have encountered this, and - fortunately (for everyone else, lol) it seems that this is very uncommon.  I am certain that I'm following instructions to the letter, and I have tried it with a default (unmodded coalesced, etc..) configuration and DLCs to rule out incompatibilities with other mods - but - simply breaks my mouse pointer/control, which indicates some bizarre issue with my hardware/drivers, near as I can tell.
The Asus is a gamer for sure, and I'm sure that most in existence are running ME3, likely more than a few using SweetFX (can't be certain of that).  The Asus uses an Elan(?) touchpad interface - though the problem occurs with USB mouse control as well...  perhaps I could figure it out with a few hours of digging -- but time's not there, and it could as well be a fruitless exercise.

If this rings a bell, is a known problem (doubtful) - or if I've done some obvious blunder(s), please enlighten me ;-)

Cheers,

Stephen/aprilia1k

My vid-capture s/w (ZD-soft screen recorder) has problems with full 1920x1080, but perhaps I can make it happen in windowed mode (or.. should be able to get it to work).. I know that if I can get you a vid of what happens it would help convey the problem. Basically - picture that when the main menu comes up, you have no mouse pointer. When you move the mouse (touchpad..), menu items DO highlight, but not reliably (i.e. glitchy.. not enough to control ).. and the mouse buttons do nothing (so not able to select Load-save or anything). It's crazy. At least this is only happening to one person (unfortunately it's me..). As soon as I restore my win32 folder, of course the problem disappears. Strange, I know.

Well, since it's the weekend now I can spend a lot more time on them. I spent almost the whole week working on revisions of Liara, so I don't have much left to do. Tough to say exactly when, but it's very likely it'll be some time this weekend.

That is some amazing detail. The only thing that I notice staring at a still frame are Liara's eyebrows. I don't particularly dislike them as they are, and I realize even Bioware's artists were uncertain about how to do them.

It may be worth experimenting with different styles just for fun, though. I would certainly be interested in seeing anything you would come up with, and perfectly content with what you've already done.

Thank you again for your work.

Yeah, maybe I'll try to play with those a bit. If I do though, it'll be after I release her original look. I'd rather you guys who are waiting on me be able to play with them asap.

Here's a pretty much finished Liara:

Ok, I'm still working on Samara, but I can give you the NPCs and Liara today. I'll add Samara to this post in a few hours when I'm finished. I will also be working on ports of these for ME1 and ME2 and hopefully .mod files for these as well. For future updates to these, I will update this post.

Try this mod with your favorite eye and eyelash mods for even better looking Asari.

Use this if you want to replace heads of more or less secondary characters like Aria T'Loak, Councilor Tevos, Lt. Kurin, Falere, Rila, etc. Aside from Liara and Samara, If you find any Asari not covered by this mod please let me know so I can replace those as well. This should work for all of them though.

Is it my birthday!? Man I wish there was a permanent version of this mod, that doesn't require texmod to work. The reason being, I have a mod pack installed using ME3Explorer, so it's jumbled the locations of all the files, and texmod won't run properly.

Still looks freaking amazing though, well done!

Thank you! Don't worry, once I finish Samara I will be working on a more permanent solution.

Heading to bed, I'll finish Samara tomorrow.

Your textures really look AMAZING! Thank you so much for sharing!

To the "permanent solution"; by checking your tpf files I realized that apart from 1 texture (Aria_TAT), all other textures already have the correct format and include MIPs, so you really don't need to compile a .mod file to share. The new ME3Explorer includes a great new feature that allows ppl to create their own .mod files based on .tpf files. If these have the correct format and include MIPS, this will only take a few seconds.

I'd even advise this solution instead of pre-compiled .mod files due to the issues regarding different game languages, etc. that can issue errors, or include DLC replacements if they indexed the DLCs and the .mod file creator didn't.

Old texture packs, like the great smarteck's or Dead Meat textures require a lot of fixing, for this I started a new project on ME3Explorer site where I began to fix and recompile all these packs and make these "fixed tpf" files available for ppl to create their own .mod files for permanent texture replacement, gathering all these files in one shared place.

Of course ALL credits go to the respective retexturing authors for their amazing work and contributions. This is acomplished by adding the reference to the author's Project Pages and including their names and mod versions in the new recompiled file names.

You can check the Project Page here: me3explorer.freeforums.org/viewtopic.php

I just finished fixing/recompiling smarteck's Leviathan, Omega and Citadel DLC Packs
And, again, amazing Asari textures

Thank you very much guys, I'm glad you like them!

@Antaris: That's really cool, I thought that was still an ME1 only thing. The Aria tattoo file that doesn't work is probably because that ones for the Omega DLC. For some reason they gave her a new tattoo file but left her head file the same as the main game.

Thanks for telling me about this though, I love how much easier Explorer is becoming to use. And thank you as well for recompiling all these mods. Especially the DLC, doing DLC stuff has been kinda confusing in the past. (At least for me.)
Just got home, and already working on Samara ;)

EDIT: Samara added to downloads post.

I've got a quick question I hope someone can answer for me. I'm using 82 texture files in texmod (I've gotten rid of the big DLC texture updates) I really want to use the DLC texture updates but if I add them then too much ram seems to get used (I have 8 Gb) and the game doesn't end up launching. I assume I don't have enough ram becuase I use the task manager to track my Physical memory percentage and for some reason whenever it gets to 70% (This only happens when I try the DLC packs) it'll close the program. Can anyone tell me if there is a way around this or if there is a way form me to fix this?

@Woody16081993: You could try installing some textures in .MOD format with ME3Explorer, some of Smarteck's textures were converted to .MOD format. Using the .MOD's replaces the textures in your game permanently, so there's no need to use Texmod for those textures -> meaning you'll have more RAM available.

Did anyone convert ThinkBlueN7's awesome Asari NPC skin textures to .mod yet and are willing to share ?
