Have been using texmod w/.tpf (not a huge selection - but enough - with no problems really - other than issues with the Hi-Res stuff that is clearly some h/w platform issue from what I can tell..)
I do hope to find a couple niche spots to try my hand and give something back as I can.

... but right now, I have pulled the "fixed tpf" files for Smartek's Citadel pak, and after a few run-throughs, will follow with creating .mods and installing - but ...
I have a question about one: The HD image description for this Citadel HD Pak mentions what I guess are Highlights - and it does mention a new tuxedo for MShep. A quick perusal of files hasn't helped me find, or determine where this one is (perhaps the single, larger HD .tpf file..?). Since Smartek mentions loading some particular mods/.tpfs with this pak - I am wondering if it is a separate .tpf that I may not have located or something. where can I find the new tux?  (if part of main ... Part1.rar" cool - just didn't recognize in the 2-d (not used to the flat map yet ;-)    Man -- editing this note and trying to get color hilites -- bug city... deleted a bunch of text and left partial markup "bird droppings" as we used to call such things...    Anyway ---  The tux shepard wears to the Casino infiltration always used to stay in my locker for my use anytime after the mission --- but, and it may be when I upgraded to collectors pak - now the tux is worn for that mission - but never gets put in my locker...   I have a saved game from an earlier playthrough and strangely the tux IS there (stock, original tux...  not talking about the mod)... so, it's an outfit that is not part of coalesced (ahh.. it must be part of the DLC's coalesced of course... well- something odd going on and if anyone has any ideas I'd appreciate - all these outfits but nothing cool for -- you know, a party ?  ;-)  CHeers in any event -

AGAIN - THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS GAME SO MUCH MORE IMMERSIVE AND REWARDING AN EXPERIENCE!

It was converted from a TPF file earlier in the thread. Any ideas why it won't install?

That's the one I tried! Apparently it's because the mod is looking for CE specific texture files, but I don't have the CE edition.

Have you tried updating Explorer through SVN? I'm no expert or anything, but I would think your Rev is out of date. If so, Ottemis has a pretty easy guide to follow on the previous page.

@NeoEnigma : If you don't own some of the DLC it's trying to specifically MOD, it should automatically skip past them and apply the .MOD successfully regardless. That message in the debug window is perfectly normal and isn't important as long as the .MOD did finish, and mind you that that can take quite some time as it'll have a bunch of files it occurs in that it will need to replace and save the textures into.

If it isn't finishing, crashes or the textures are not showing up ingame after it's done, that is another matter, but I don't see you specifying the result at all. Did it say it finished or did it give you a popup with an error (and if so which error)?

We're testing a bug that might be related to your problem, so changing your rev will probably not help (yet).

Will a radeon hd 7750 be able to run these mods smoothly since  the textures are 4k?

Hey guys need some help using alot of .tpf mods in textmod.

My computer has 16gb of Ram so I figured I should be able to run as many mods in texmod as I want, for some reason though when the ME3 program in my processes window gets to around 3.5gb of ram filled it just closes itself. Does anyone know why this might happen? Is one program only allowed to fill up a certain amount of ram? Is there a way around this?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

"Normal" programs can only use 4GB of RAM. Physical limitation unfortunately, no way around it.
The backdoor however is opened with ME3Explorer and permanent replacement, so you don't have to use texmod anymore.

EDIT: Googling should take you to the ME3Explorer forums where the magic happens.

Ah okay, I've had the ME3Explorer option presented to me before but I didn't want to go through the trouble of learning how to work it and re-downloading all the mods in the proper format. I guess maybe I'll have to take a look into it later.

It has its problems, but its also faar superior to texmod.
I do understand it is a bit of a learning curve, but that's been minimised now.

Download .mod, start modmaker, install mod, play game and cry with joy at the glorious HD textures (This step is mandatory)

I installed the Citadel DLC pack and noticed that in Shepard's apartment there's a painting in the wrong position:

Image IPB

Is there a way to fix that?

You can, it could be some effort though, depending on what's going on.
You'd need to extract the file from the .tpf, see if it's rotated. If it is, correct it, rebuild the .tpf and .mod and install. If it's not, then....no idea :P

The problem I think is that that particular painting image is used on two separate frames, one horizontally and one vertically orientated. With an abstract image you'd never notice the difference, but with a picture like this you obviously would.
It's not always something modders will notice, especially if this particular painting was made to fit the other horizontally orientated frame, and we have never run into this particular iteration while testing.

Conclusion: Most likely best replaced with an abstract image, to avoid a rotation problem from resurfacing in another place.

... that is not a simple mistake .. as Ottemis says, stay upright because Bioware use a single texture too generic to different places ... is a small price to be paid for in other important places the paint look better...

Saludos ;)

The issue of "normal" programs only using up to 4gb... ;-) it's a 32-bit (though "large addres aware") vs 64-bit executable/binary that determines the memory addressing w/in a single binary.  The limit is more like 2gb w/o the help of some "helper" libraries/module (e.g. Large Address Aware) can/will "re-map" things in memory to allow a 32-bit pgm to appear to access above the imposed limit (32-bit OS, e.g.)  but only if they are 64-bit themselves or some other remapping util or mem/scheme is in place. Ideally, for high-res gfx, everything would be 64-bit. Any debate is suspect.. imho ;-)
Yep -- next rev. this should all go away cuz we'll be done with 32-bit drivers, OS' and binaries.   One hopes...

While using these mods I got the "Cannot authorize DLC." How do I fix this?

Also, will having the MEHEM conflict with this at all?

Does this affect the opening scenes at all? I havent noticed a difference in any textures and Sheps uniform is still grainy

This is embarrassing, but I think I may have forgotten how to use TexMod or the new patch for Origin is making it harder to use.

I haven't played ME3 in a long, long time. But I used to load the game with 40 of these mods all the time. It would take a long time to load but eventually the game would work with all the graphics mods. Now, even when I try to launch Texmod (then select ME3 file) and add files in, the game launches immediately without the long load times and the files don't appear to have any impact on the graphics.

I am going to TexMod first, selecting ME3, then all the files I want, then run. I think I forgot the right way to do it.

FYI, I am logging offline at the title screen. I remembered to do that, at least.

Remember rename the exe files first (bat file or manually).. also see the video on first page to remember the process (on instructions area).

Good luck =)

OK, I am having an interesting problem that I cant seem to figure out. I load up TexMod and select the mods I want to use. The game takes about 7 or 8 minutes to load, and then the Omniblabe intro plays. However, after this, the screen just goes black. I can hear the menu music the game plays when you get to the "Press any button to continue" screen, but pressing a button doesn't do anything. I am unable to Alt+Tab out, and if I Ctrl+Alt+Del to get out, the game crashes. Anyone know what could be causing this?

Test with less MODs... like 5  or 10.... Check about Disable Origin overlay...

The overlay is disabled, so it's not that. Whats weird is that I used to be able to load around 60 or 70 mods at the same time, and now I can only load around 40 to 50 max. I know its not a file size issue, because I was trying to load the same mods as before. Could an Origin update have caused this somehow? Strange that it worked fine one week, and the next it will not.
