If I can ever get links to post on this damn forum I'll have a few new mods ready to go.

N7 Defender Armor (Updated)

All new Recon Hood

Death Mask (New)

All new M-76 Revenant

All new M-8 Avenger (M-7 Lancer will be coming soon as well.)

All new M-96 Mattock

All new M-98 Widow

All new M-6 Carnifex (BioWare shares the normal map between the Carnifex, Paladin and M-11 Supressor so be aware of that.)

New Spectre Pack weapons. (M-77 Paladin, M-11 Wraith, Black Widow) (New normals, Paladin is all new texture.)

M-11 Suppressor (New)

For some things like the M-96 Mattock and M-76 Revenant I was able to get the normal maps and base textures from Mass Effect 2. These were much higher quality in ME2 than they are in ME3 and are unchanged. The normal maps are slightly different in ME2 and end up too bright in ME3, but I've learned to correct for this.

The ones that I'm referring to as "All new" are completely new textures from the ground up and share nothing with my previous versions. Ones referenced as "New" are ones I've never done before and are just new. For the Defender Armor, I didn't do a whole lot to it and it's largely the same as the last version but there were significant changes made to some of the shading on the texture and some cleanup done here and there. The normal map is all new for that one as well.

The M-96 Mattock is one I did simply keeping it as close to the original as possible, but in the highest quality. There are tons of good M-96 mods out there, so I'm just throwing this one out there for someone who prefers it without any artistic liberties taken. I did however disable the color changing on that one. I did this on the M-76 Revenant as well. The color changing looks terrible on these guns as some of the original texture color shows through and the color changes just don't cover well. Basically this leads to a bad Krylon looking job which I don't care for. If you want them to change color you can use TPFExtract and just take out the all black file. Lights were left in tact so those still change color with armor piercing and other mods which change the LED coloring.

The Avenger is one that I'm not a fan of and don't generally use myself but you see it allot in cut scenes so it should look good. No disrespect to those who made mods of this already or anything. I simply wanted to create a version that didn't look rusty, or as badly hammered. Some of the Avenger mods out there also don't look right as the metal body parts of it look more like concrete than metal. Guns don't scratch the way these tend to look in most of the mods out there. Again, just an alternative for anyone who wants it.

I'll get links up just as soon as I can figure out how to post them. Strange the forum won't let me use the link feature, edit my own posts or do much else.

Did you link any of your old gaming profiles to your profile on the new forums? That might be what's happening, restricted access through no linked regged games?

Smarteck, Can i ask what your in-game brightness was set to to achieve the screenshot image on your Next-Gen Cinematic Filter?

is +1....

Some user here and in the original post of that MOD say there is a problem becouse is too dark... I do not know why that happends for some people... but maybe can be fixed editing the GAMMA value on SweetFX:

Open with notepad the file "SweetFX_settings.txt" and...

- Enable Tonemap using the number "1"

SAfLfnT.png

- Down to Tonemap area and edit  "Gamma", try with 0.45

Cn7s716.png

- Save changes and go back to the game to see the changes.

uMIzeXD.png

Good luck!  ;)

Also I will share on my OneDrive space (maybe tomorrow) a version of this effect for DX11 games using 2 new SweetFX shaders, sadly does not have the Bloom effect of ENB but the Cinematic filter is there...

You are running all three of the illumination mods together? I have just been using the Next-Gen Cinematic Filter on its own so far.

You also have to consider that some monitors are darker than others. Using the settings Smartek uses, mine is way to dark. So you have to adjust for that.

It does. If your coalesced.bin is modified correctly, you can change the colors of the Death Mask if you wish to make it a closer match. But it does use the same carbon fiber pattern than my revamp of Smartek's N7 default armor uses and everything else I've done such as the Defender armor itself.

About the closest thing I'm willing to do is update my Desert Defender armor. It replaces the stock N7 Defender texture with a "Marpat" style camo pattern and all of that. I have also modified it to replace the in game single player only Battlefield 3 armor, but it doesn't look right doing that. Half that armor always appears red on the side where the fire effect is. Unfortunately I've manually scoured the textures in the PCC files for the game and I haven't found a texture to be responsible for that effect. So the red added to it is done via some other means. Someone who knows more about modding the game beyond textures will have to look at that.

Long story short, I can replace the defender texture, but I'm unwilling to go beyond the two I've done now besides updates. And honestly the Desert Defender was born out of making a version of James Vega's Collector's Edition Armor which I've also got. Changes to those are in the works as well so I will be offering those again at some point.

The plain MP versions aren't compatible with the single player Defender Armors. The MP versions include the helmet texture within the same texture map so the whole texture is completely different. The single player versions use a different texture map without a helmet. Again they are very different. (Unfortunately.)

FemShep's is also totally different so I never bothered to work on that one. I don't really play on it either, but what you are probably asking for is more easily done with a coalesced.bin mod and changing out her "BF3" armor as it seems to have been unfinished and is a plain gray color.

The N7 Defender armor is a pain to work with. The stock texture is absolutely an abortion of a thing and thus you have to rebuild most of it manually. At one point I had created a template which would have made recolors and what not much easier, but somewhere along the way I lost it. The files I have to work with now would largely leave me working from scratch to do what your asking. I'd love to, but I just don't have the time to devote to redoing that mess again.

Never say never, I may get bored enough to do it one day. Though I'm almost 100% certain I'll never do a Femshep version. It's a huge pain in the ass.

Next-Gen Cinematic Filter (DX9) on first page is the best, becouse have the chromatic shift and that great bloom effect from ENB...

The new SweetFX MOD for DX11 does not have the same bloom control over the lights, but have gaussian blur, is something..

But definitely, Next-Gen Cinematic Filter for DX9 games is the best illumination MOD I've seen on PC gaming world...  B)

The desert camo looking one is actually the Battlefield 3 single player armor, NOT a retexture of the standard Defender. :)

I'm actually zipping these files up and getting ready to upload them. What I've got ready to go are the following:

N7 Defender Armor

Battlefield 3 Single Player Armor (Original color scheme w/o Fire) - Note: Basically a jungle version.

Battlefield 3 Single Player Armor (N7 "Desert" Defender) - Note: This one replaces the stock N7 Defender

Battlefield 3 Single Player Armor (N7 "Desert" Defender) - Note: This one replaces the BF3 Armor and requires a coalesced.bin mod to use.)

Default N7 Armor - Note: I can't take too much credit for this one. The helmet was changed a bit as were the shoulders. The rest of the texture is Smartek's and Bloodr (I think that's the guy who made the FemShep version.) And these go together. There are some shared files between these two, you can use the male version alone but the female version requires the male version, or it will be incomplete.)

Recon Hood

Death Mask -Note: Requires coalesced.bin to use with the BF3 SP armor if you want to complete that look, otherwise it works fine on it's own and the BF3 Armor doesn't contain the texture map for it like the MP version does.)

M-6 Carnifex

M-7 Lancer

M-8 Avenger

M-76 Revenant

M-96 Mattock - Note: This one is pretty much the stock ME2 texture up-scaled slightly with a new normal map for ME3. Much higher quality than the ME3 version. Also the body does not change color with modification.) This one looks surprisingly good despite not having to do much to it.

M-98 Widow

N7 Eagle

N7 Typhoon

N7 Valkyrie

One final note about the BF3 armors. There is a slight reddish tint in some lighting on the right side of the armors. (Does not effect the version which replaces the stock N7 Defender Texture entirely.) This isn't hardly noticeable on the Jungle version but clear on the desert version in say really sunny areas. Indoors not so much. This is due to a light being added to that model in game and not through a texture. This isn't a texture issue but a game issue or some sort. I'd welcome any help anyone can offer on getting rid of that crap once and for all via ME3Explorer or whatever means necessary. I've done my best to mask this problem and will continue to work on it but the issue doesn't appear to be anything texture related as the files work fine as stock replacements for the standard N7 Defender armor.

And yes, I will be creating my own thread to pool all this stuff into. I just thought I'd let you guys know here as this has become one of the definitive places to get mods for this game.

Another note, the M-11 Suppressor is done but this was one I had to pull the textures out through ME3Explorer. I do not have this in the correct format for a .tpf file. For some reason I can't use Texmod to pull textures on any of my machines anymore. It crashes when I start up Texmod. This happened after the installation of the Citadel DLC on all my machines. Before that it worked fine. And no, compatibility modes didn't resolve the issue.

And the last thing I can think of relates to certain normal maps. BioWare in it's infinite wisdom chose to use the same normal maps for some similar weapons. The Black Widow and M-98 Widow share the same normal map. Oddly it looks better to use the one I made for the Black Widow for both. For the same reason the M-11 Suppressor, Carnifex and Paladin all share the same normal map. The M-11 Suppressor as a result was altered slightly to resemble those other guns more closely so it would look right. And the M-22 Eviscerator shares a normal map with the M-11 Wraith Shotgun. So as a result you actually get a slight visual improvement on that gun as well.

Finished Tali's From Ashes armor v1.

Download: http://filesmelt.com...FromAshesv1.tpf

...

I've also made a minor edit to the alternate armor for Tali: I reduced the normal map intensity because it made parts of the texture look plastic and fake.

Compare the original here: http://th03.devianta...234-d5h5f5k.jpg

to

revised: http://filesmelt.com/dl/4320.png

You can download v1.01 of Tali's Alternate Armor here: http://filesmelt.com...Outfitv1p01.tpf

...

I'm sure I'll return to these eventually after I figure out more stuff as learn more and make other different edits, and they're far from perfect, but I like them in game a lot more than the defaults. If anyone wants to, they're free to edit them and improve them to their desires. But of course send that edit to me. :V

I think I'm going to do that knife I requested materials for next, but that won't take long. Then I'll either do Tali's DLC armor from ME2 for ME2 and ME3 (which would just be a recolor of Jean-Luc's texture) or the car interior/exterior you see in ME3 with Garrus on the citadel and in a few missions in ME2 that looks _totally_ awful.

I tried to screw around with that burn texture I mentioned earlier but I didn't really like how it looked.

Does anybody have a working link for these?
