Yesterday I ran out of video memory sufficient to load all the textures together, so I started to optimize the files of all the mods we have here.

Anyone know any way to compress the DDS as I do with the JPG to reduce your weight?.

How much memory does your video card have?

It has 1.5 GB. You think I miss configure something?

When I load the MODs, the system RAM goes up to 7GB of a total of 8. I never have frozen the game during play, the only thing is that when I load too many files in Texmod, the game can not load a save (crash to desktop).wentworthmeister wrote...

No I was just curious. My GTX 560Ti has 1GB, and the game sometimes freezes when I walk around on the Normandy (using the hi-res textures). I know my main system memory is too small (4GB) - the task manager shows it as full and ME3 using 3GB, so I suspect it is swapping to disk sometimes.

I'm running Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit, 12 GB's of Corsair DDR3 Ram @1600 Mhz, and 2 NVidia GeForce 470's in SLI mode, and still run into an occasional frame stutter with all of the Hi Res Tex mods of smarteks that I use. But I LOVE EM ALL!!!! Would LOVE to see one for Tali...but I hear she is quite a nightmare to do.
AWESOME work Smartek...and Thank you so VERY much for doing these....BioWare NEEDS to give you a HIGH PAYING job!

SLI has an inherit microstutter caused by the alternate frame rendering that SLI uses. Only way I've seen this reduced is with triple or quad SLI according to tests, because it spreads the load over more than two cards.

I really think this thread should be moved to the new Fan Creations forum. It'd make it much easier to find/keep track of, and it'd be forum appropriate for those seeking it out.
Also less likely to be buried by nonsense and throes of 'artistic integrity'. The General forums have never been a, hrm, 'enjoyable' place to hang around. Strictly my opinion, of course.
Smarteck, if you agree with my sentiments here (regarding the move, specifically), I would suggest sending a PM to one of the moderators (Chris Priestly being the most likely?) and petition to get it moved. I think this would benefit the community better there.
