///

The tests on my PC, with the new files "OPTIMIZED 2" have been quite good. I still hope the results of other 2 users who are helping me in the process before leaving the new files in the Post.

I hope tomorrow to have it ready.

:D

Hi guys.
Thank you, people, who are working on HD textures. Great job!
Unfortunately, i cannot find a texture for my favorite weapon - Revenant that I use all the time.
Does anyone intend or plan to make an HD texture for this weapon? It would be great if you do!)

I can see about doing some work on the Revenant. I can't say for certain that it will be up to smarteck's standards, as we use different enhancement methods, but I'll let you know once I've got something.

**EDIT** Added clearer screen shot.

Here's what I could do in about an hour. I'll improve it further when I've got time : )

Eh, the screen is a little dark, now that I look at it. The weapon looks better in game, as always.

Could please the creator of this topic compile everything being made and post it in the opening post.
Do it every 2 pages.
Also it would be nice if entire thing of everything everyone made would be zipped/rared and posted under one link.

Otherwise this whole project will become exceedingly less user-friendly with over 40 pages..

It IS in the opening post. <_<

No, we are not going to change this thread to have every project listed every two pages just because ONE user wants it that way.

The only thing I can think of that you might be referencing are projects made by people other than Smarteck, which isn't Smarteck's responsibility. Smarteck is responsible for his projects, everyone else is responsible for theirs. This thread is for Smarteck's high resolution textures. If he posts others' projects, it's out of courtesy, not a requirement.

Agreed. Others of us are doing work on textures as well, but I for one only really have the one major retexture project going on right now, and that's not worth a thread on it's own. I've been posting updates here and I'll post the project in that section when the time comes. (Which should be today hopefully.)

What about this link, given  in the opening post?

*** Also, you can find this textures Mod and others textures (like FemShep N7 default armor, Weapons, etc.) here:

-  social.bioware.com/group/7065/#projects (group).

Read carefully, everything can be found if you're looking for it ^_^

**EDIT**
Hehe, read the above post : )

****

All of smarteck's mods are listed in the OP,  as others have stated. Though a few of us do help each other out from time to time, we each have our own "style" of enhancing textures, so any joint package would probably just confuse people.

That is a good idea, though. I'm not sure if smarteck has plans to release a single ZIP with all of his mods inside, but it would make it easier if you want to downloaded everything at once and pick through what you want to use afterward.

I do have some mods in the works right now, but I wouldn't try to derail smarteck's thread with my stuff. In hindsight, I probably shouldn't have posted the M-76 Revenant mod link hrere at all, but I just felt an overwhelming urge to respond to that request (that gun sure was ugly before : P).

In the mean time, you can find most of the released TexMod textures for ME3 here: http://social.biowar.../7065/#projects

LOL ignore him, I just took a quick look at his other posts. Control freak, belittles anyone who has a different view than him. He doesn't contribute to the community, no mods, nothing. Even though some of his views have merit, in the end he's just a whiner who wants to control without earning it.

Reading this thread, I noticed that people with the really powerful computers are having problems with Texmod. It seems that we will have reached soon our maximum number of the HD textures which we can use in the game (at least, for major of people). And all of the problems come from using Texmod.
Why haven't Bioware created a programm yet which could upload textures into the game? Avoid using Texmod. Just remember Crysis 2 and HD textures which were made after some time (and were about 2-3 GB) and could be downloaded as a separate mod.
This is what I don't understand. If Bioware are not to make the Hi-res textures why don't let the people to make it by themselves and get into the game without using any programms? There are many people on the site who are working on the textures, so it seems that the entire game will have been retextured soon =)

Bioware has increasingly made it difficult to install mods for the game. In Mass Effect 1 we had access to an in-game console, and we could access all the INI files separately. Now most of the game's settings are conglomerated into a single BIN file that is encrypted and needs to be opened with an editor (either Notepad++ or the ME3 Coalesced Editor)

As far as textures are concerned, go back a couple pages in this thread. You will see that people have brought up the ME3 Explorer as a potential idea, but until someone figures out how to inject textures directly into AFC files without screwing up the way Origin detects AFC files (think of Origin's definition of "cheating" here) we are stuck with this rudimentary method of texture injection.

In the meantime, you may want to consider using the Optimized textures Smarteck has posted up on his LIVE drive. Warning, they feel like medium resolution textures.

I didn't really see any degradation in visual quality when I tested them. The textures are the same resolutions and have the same detail as the originals. It might just be the way D3D handles DDS files, since DDS files are already "optimized" to be run with DirectX.

That said, I might just not pay that much attention, lol. I do have legitimate ADD : P

It's possible, but for me, as I haven't played ME3 yet, this would be a major upgrade. Also, it's probably the only ones I'll be able to use, given my 4gb RAM of my PC.

Un saludo

Are you running 1080 or 1600p? Because I can definitely tell the difference between Optimized and the original texture designs. The Normandy looks like smudgework with the Optimized Pack. Like the high details, the metal scratches, they're "there" in the optimized pack, but at a very blurry resolution.

Okay,

Those who have tested the new files that are in the Emergency backup folder (OPTIMIZED 2), the system is more stable now?

I noticed a savings of 3GB of RAM using these new files. I change the format of all files except the N7 armor and The Citadel.

By changing the format of the Citadel, had many buggy, but when using the optimized jpg file that is already in the Post (File v1.2 OPTIMIZED), the problems seem to have almost completely solved .. for over an hour, only 1 time the game sent me to the desktop while walking in the Citadel, but the rest of the levels that tests, worked to perfection (Mars, The Normandy, Menae, The Academy).
Then, the already found files "OPTIMIZED 2", noted that improved performance?

PS: for those who want to access the files in one place ... are all together in the Emergency backup folder in Skydrive.

Salu2.;)

I max out at 1080p, unfortunately. That's probably the reason.

Playing at 1600p, my eyes would probably explode from all the detail...

Hey Smarteck, I tried running your Optimized files, and they work fine, but the image quality feels like "medium" quality texture. Is there anyway to push the quality more on the optimization?

Edit: By the way, I use 1920x1080 and not notice any degradation, maybe if something appears to 1600p ..

But tell me a file that look bad to 1600p and I will send yo that file with a different compression and we'll see what happens.

That's strange...I have 4 GB of RAM (but Windows XP and 3,5 GB actually). I used LAA to let the game use more than 2 GB. However, I'm having problems when the game uses more than 1,8 GB of RAM despite 1-1,5 GB free. Does anyone know what's the reason for it?

Maybe it's insufficient video memory ...
How much memory does your video card?
