I have finished one of the most ugly textures on the game, if not the most!!!

The reaper creatures are in very low LOW resolution, i'm talking about three textures, one at 1024, other at 512 and the last one and the most important and useful at 256 ¬¬ seriously the most important texture of the reapers is at 256 x 256... I'm sure that Bioware uses monkeys to develop their games. It was a hard task but I made it just enjoy it :)

Got three more requets.

Hackett's uniform - pretty much same deal as you've done with Anderson.
Alliance Marines - the armored humans you see when returning to Earth, they're way too low res.
Anderson's resistance uniform - the gray one with the cap, that he wears for most of the game, could use a touch-up.

Bumping these.

Also, great work on the Cannibal there. I can finally see something else than horrible pixelated mess that was the arm cannon.

Doing more work on my high resolution Ashley retexture today. This is what I've got so far. I've still got a lot to do, but I'm getting pretty close to having this finished. As you can see below, I kept a similar style in line with Smartek's high resolution Default Male Shepard armor. The shoulders, and parts of the back use the same texture pattern. (Thanks for providing that BTW Smartek.) I want to update all the armors in this fashion so they look consistent, and better than the low resolution crap we got with the game. I've still got the helmet, lower legs to do and other various tweaks, but you get the idea.

Very nice! Can't wait 'til it's finished so I can pop it in my game.

Wow...a few days off and so many changes happened. I´ve just downloaded all "Optimized 2" textures and will try them out this coming weekend at the latest. I´m curious how well they´ll perform on my "sub-average" system. With the textures before Smarteck optimized them now, i´ve experienced an increasing number of stuttering and screen freezes the longer i was playing. I´ve played with these textures (Loaded in that order):

1: Formal uniform of the Alliance HR 2048 v1.0
2: 2 EDI Default Nanosuit HR 4096 v1.2
3: 1 Liara High Resolution abdomen fixed v.12
4: 2 Garrus Default Armor High Resolution 4096 v1.0
5: 1 Miranda Default Suit HR 4096 v1.0
6: Wrex - Wrev Default Armor HR 4096 v1.0
7: 1 a-Vega informal 1.2
8: Interior of Normandy HR v1.0
9: The Citadel HR v1.2 OPTIMIZED
10: 2 Alliance Suit Standard Male HR v1.3
11: 2 Alliance Suit Standard Female HR v1.3
12: ibr_formal_hackett
13: Doors Hologram v1.0
14: Menu Background 2 ME3
15: Weapon Mantis M-92 v1.0

FXAA 1.3 is active while playing.

But....although i´ve played several times now for about two to three hours with the above textures loaded, my game never crashed.....so far (My System: "Old horse but stable!" Posted ImagePosted Image). Playing ME3 with a resolution of 1280 x 1024 (I don´t have a flat screen...still an old 19" CRT Monitor....hey, it still works.) and also playing ME3 without using LAA. I might should use it Posted Image .

My system:
AMD Dual Core 2 x 3.0 Ghz
ATI 5770 1 GB card
4 GB RAM
Windows Vista 32-bit

My system is way too outdated to upgrade it to a 64-bit system with faster RAM and a Quad-CPU (Would require a new Motherboard and some other parts).
Although i have that stuttering sometimes and very often screen freezes (4 - 15 secs....lasted longer when played longer) those stuttering and freezing only appears when i´m walking around Normandy & Citadel. Not surprising.

So....i´m very curious if your optimized textures may help to "comfort" my "old horse" system. I´ll let you know!

You'll see improvements as new files, I have saved 3 GB of RAM consumption using 38 MODs simultaneously :D

Indeed, the stutterin is caused, because at that point the game is loading the textures in high resolution. The new files that reduce stuttering "considerably".

Well, like i said a few pages before, that i used the bat file as it is displayed. I just changed the path´s in the bat file so they match to the ME3 directory path´s in my own system. I changed nothing else and it works fine.

I also wrote in that post: "Alternative --> Use the preset batch-file (Just make sure to change the path´s to match yours). This is originally from DieVarieties."

That´s why i don´t understand why, for example, neilthecellist wrote right below that post from me:

Posted that batch file already, you copied it directly, most people have ME3 installed on the C drive, not the D drive. Look at your code again.

I guess he overread that point from me Posted Image.

So luzburg: Just put the bat file in your ME3 ..../Binaries/W32 folder (Where the MassEffect.exe is), make sure that the path in the bat file MATCHES the path in your own system and then run it. Make sure that your Texmod.exe (With all Texmod files & folder) is also in your ME3 ..../Binaries/W32 folder (Where the MassEffect.exe is), before you run the bat file!

If you couldn't tell the difference, I doubt the improved textures loaded at all. What do you have the game's settings at? Have you run the configuration program in the Mass Effect 3 configuration folder to enable / set antisotropic filtering?

My main point is that that batch code was posted already. It's even hot-linked on the opening post. Your post was completely redundant. I even went over the proper instructions, which you edited into your original post (do you really think I'd fall for the edit trap? Shame on you).

EDIT: And it's \\Win32, not \\W32 by default. Don't screw him up even more, makes all your bolding and underline redundant too.

So I just wrote this new batch code to run TexMod. This works if you put the .bat file and TexMod.exe in the directory with MassEffect3.exe. Just create a shortcut to the .bat file and place that on your desktop.

Hope you all enjoy my original code!

@ECHO OFF
ECHO Run Mass Effect 3 with Texmod?
SET /P X=(Y)es or (N)o?
IF /I "%X%"=="Y" goto :Yes
IF /I "%X%"=="N" goto :No
GOTO END

:Yes
ren "MassEffect3.exe" "MassEffect3_tmp.exe
ren "Texmod.exe" "MassEffect3.exe"

ECHO Files renamed! Please start now your Mass Effect 3 in Origin.
PAUSE

ren "MassEffect3.exe" "Texmod.exe"
ren "MassEffect3_tmp.exe" "MassEffect3.exe"

ECHO Filenames restored! Now you can start Mass Effect 3 with use of TexMod.
PAUSE

GOTO END

:No

"MassEffect3.exe"

:END

How much Vram is the game using with all the textures loaded? I'm kinda worried because I have two GTX560Ti's 1GB in Sli.

I have added a section for "Contributions" in the Post. In this section, I will include links to access all the MODs you are shared here.

This section will include only those files that have no space in the MODs group (projects).

With all the multi-purpose textures being put out, should there be a specific order when putting them in texmod to not run with risk of overlapping?

I will almost certainly be finished with Ashley's retexture tonight. Just doing a little testing and finishing a few new things. I will however, have to save her helmet for another day.

Also just as a side note to you deadmeat, I believe you're over doing the grunge on her armor, subtlety is key..

The idea is to leave only direct links to new textures for ME3, those that are shared between the comments.
But anyway thanks for the tip.

its just that the paths are correct i can confirm that the bat is working origins starts texmod andi can go in the win32 folder and se that texmod is named mass effect 3.exe and and back to textmod again.  its just that the textures dosent load
