Bioware is legally not allowed to accept these texures. That and Bioware has their own high rez textures. All textures in-game were produced at high resolution and then compressed and made into tiny for consoles.Captain Proton wrote...
Are you sure there isn't a way to submit these texture mods to BioWare for an official high-res texture pack? I mean, implementing these into the game through a patch could save us a lot of time and no TexMod would be neccesarry.

Does the game still need like 15 minutes to start with Texmod? I hated that.
Starts up pretty quick for me. I'd say no more than a few minutes with lots of textures loaded. Not sure why Mass Effect 2 took so long to load.

I use all those textures included in OP (not optimized ones, yet!)
Game starts in few minutes, its not like ME2 which start in 20min

Ya well it doesn't matter now, Origin it seems isn't getting tricked into launching Texmod any more. How are we suppose to enjoy the HR textures now?
Try reinstall your Origin and possible ME3?
Maybe then works

It seems to be happening only to you, buddy
Try backing up your Origin games and reinstalling Origin itself

I wouldn't bother uninstalling Origin or anything like that, rather, I'd check your version of TexMod, etc. It could be any number of things. Try starting it up with fewer mods? Try running ME3 without TexMod first, then with TexMod? I really don't know what could be causing the problem, but I doubt uninstalling/reinstalling will help at this point. Plus, it's a pain in the ass : )

Plus, check if the Origin Overlay is turned off.. might have been turned on after the update.
If it still doesn't work, I would try to run Texmod without origin. If works, reinstall Origin, if it doesn't work, redownload Texmod.
If you're using a premade batch file to run Texmod, I would check the files to see if anything got screwed up.

The original texture looks like absolute crap when used as a base for retex, it is so pixelated that I get a lot of discrepancies in quality when working on it.
As a result, I'm redoing the "white" bits of the Atlas from scratch, entirely new texture. The darker bits are mostly ok to use with a quick retouch..
To illustrate what I'm on about, here's a quick image from my work in progress and the original tex:

(note that this isn't the finished product, I still have to tweak the shadows and add grime and scratches, I only did some "boundaries" scratches to guide me better)

I have noticed that sometimes Origin minimizes itself to the system tray instead of to the task bar after running TexMod. I don't know why, but I've had problems with this in the past. Make sure that Origin is just minimized to the task bar instead of hiding in the system tray... sometimes that makes a difference.
Also, I probably don't need to tell you this, but make sure you run the game with TexMod from Origin itself, not from the shortcut. Like I said, I don't know why, but sometimes that makes a difference, too.

Do I really have to disable the overlay for this to work, or is there a chance for it to work anyway? Because I kinda need the overlay. In multiplayer to chat with my friends and in the singleplayer it can pause the game even in the middle of a cutscene.
No. Just change Mass Effect 3 to run in Windowed Mode (Borderless) and Alt Tab seamlessly (there will be no delay) and you can invite/chat in Origin through a separate window. I actually find it works better than Origin in-game.

Note: You will need the modified coalesced.bin to use this texture as armor.
You can get that here: http://social.biowar...m/project/8150/
Also, for anyone who wants ashleys hair like i have:
Ashley's Hair uses the same coalesced.bin file as the armor, so you can skip ahead to where you use gibbed to change the values.
Enjoy!

Fantastic as always but a question, does the "1.4 Alliance suit Male" effect the cerberus personal as well or is that a seperate file?

Another question. Is it possible to get a clean ambient occlusion? because the Nvidia Inspector method using the Mass Effect code doesn't work properly, it has horrendous flickering and you can see through smoke and fog.

Can't force SSAO as I'm using AMD GPUs. Still looks really great. Much better than vanilla.
Is anyone working or planning to do Liara's skin texture?
