There are some simple instructions in the OP of this thread. It should get you started. There are tons of textures in ME3(and in other Mass Effect games) that could use work. I don't think it's ever too late to get involved in modding.SliPaladin wrote...
I wish I knew how to work on textures, since I have nothing to do most of the day because I'm done with school and my friends are on vacation I would have worked on this project a lot. Also it's nice to see someone from GameTrailers.
Also, inspired by this thread I made a little thread to GT's game developement section. People haven't been very helpful there tho. What name you go by on GT atm? I take that your original account is banned.

Is anyone working or planning to do Liara's skin texture?
Her armor and such has already been completed. Think there's a link to it on the first page. Not sure about her skin, looks okay to me.

Yeah I've got the armor and default suit but the skin is still the vanilla. Sort of sticks out in closeups when the suit/armor is razor sharp and skin... blurry.magnetite wrote...

Most likely an issue with RAM. Try loading only one .tpf file and see what happens.-S- wrote...
I keep getting the "Mass Effect 3 has stopped working" message. There game starts, there's a black screen for 2 minutes as the textures are loaded, then it crashes.
If it works, try add more packages and check how much RAM does "MassEffect3.exe" use? (Alt+Ctrl+Del -> Processes tab) How much RAM does your entire system have left?(Performance tab). If it starts to use like two gigabytes, you'll need to use LAA(large adress aware) on the 'MassEffect3.exe'.
http://www.techpower...ad.php?t=112556
It'll allows the game to use up to 4GBs of RAM on 64bit OS and up to 3GB on x86(32bit) ones. Mine is going up to 3.5GB now after LAA but I can crash it if I try to load too many packages at once. It takes 1m30s to start up from an SSD but it works quite well.

Her skin is fine - it's the tiny norm map that is making look a little plain. I'll grab a screen from my game that shows off the new one I generated.Sorwis wrote...

Can someone please tell me how to make dynamic shadows softer???? I have been trying many ways but i have yet not found a good method. too many artifacts.
Another question. Is it possible to get a clean ambient occlusion? because the Nvidia Inspector method using the Mass Effect code doesn't work properly, it has horrendous flickering and you can see through smoke and fog.
As for soft shadows, that's out of my league -- it involves editing the hard-coded shaders themselves. Although, if you're using FXAA Tool, try turning down pre-sharpening or disabling it altogether. I've noticed that it can pixelate effects like depth of field and other post-processing effects.
Onto SSAO... I have my flags in nVidia Inspector set up as follows:

Now, I do take a bit of a frame rate hit, but I haven't noticed any flickering. As for seeing through shadows, I have't noticed anything, but I really haven't been paying that much attention
Let me know if that works for you.

This is exactly the same config I have right now, The flickering is only in ambient occlusion effects, everything else is fine, sometimes there is AO and sometimes it just disappears, it's really anoying, I have two gtx 580 3Gb almost new, the ambient occlusion works fine in any other game.

After I follow the instructions to the letter, Texmod goes unresponsive as soon as I press run. Any thoughts? Tried as an admin as well.
No ideas?

Gah, still can't get these textures to work! I've had no troubles for ME2, but no matter how many times I try the batch file method for ME3, it just doesn't work and I end up having to reinstall the game over and over because the exe is now useless/messed up.
Thank you for the textures and contributions all, I wish I could get em to work.
Anyone who could help me out?

Her skin is actually one of the better textures in the game.

Get it working without the batch file first. Rename the executable to MassEffect3_Bak, then rename textmod.exe to MassEffect3.exe, then run the game from Origin. It should launch Textmod. Then rename MassEffect3.exe to Texmod, and rename MassEffect3_Bak.exe to MassEffect3.exe and run MassEffect3 from the Texmod launcher.

Fantastic as always but a question, does the "1.4 Alliance suit Male" effect the cerberus personal as well or is that a seperate file?
They are different files. those with the Cerberus logo are new.

I have a question, does the Utuku pack change the Ravagers and Swarmers too, or just the Queen?
The Mod "Utukku" only contains metal parts Reaper and eggs of the queen. The queen is downloaded separately in contributions.

A moment ago ago, I helped a user, who did not work file ".bat." The problem was that their OS not performed correctly the process of renaming the files, to fix it was necessary to manually assist the process of the .bat Now he can use the MODs.

meanwhile, a demonstration of a little part of my progress. I still have a looot to fix
Right= Original Left=Fixed. You can also see it HD by making right click on each image ... well you know.

Maybe one more week or less and it will be finished.

Sorry I think I am delaying too much with the Destroyer Reaper but this guy is a really tough one to beat. It has incredibly poor textures. Why Bioware??? :S

Some textures and objects are just harder to work with. I'm sure it will be worth the wait.
