Gah, still can't get these textures to work! I've had no troubles for ME2, but no matter how many times I try the batch file method for ME3, it just doesn't work and I end up having to reinstall the game over and over because the exe is now useless/messed up.

Thank you for the textures and contributions all, I wish I could get em to work.

Anyone who could help me out?

Get it working without the batch file first. Rename the executable to MassEffect3_Bak, then rename textmod.exe to MassEffect3.exe, then run the game from Origin. It should launch Textmod. Then rename MassEffect3.exe to Texmod, and rename MassEffect3_Bak.exe to MassEffect3.exe and run MassEffect3 from the Texmod launcher.

Do you have file extensions enabled? As in, do you see the file listed as

MassEffect3

or

MassEffect3.exe

??

This is exactly  the same config I have right now, The flickering is only in ambient occlusion effects, everything else is fine, sometimes there is AO and sometimes it just disappears, it's really anoying, I have two gtx 580 3Gb almost new, the ambient occlusion works fine in any other game.

Hmmm... I'm using older video hardware (two GTX 460's in SLI), so I don't know if that could make a difference. I do remember having some flickering and stuttering issues initially until I updated to the new, 300.xx nVidia drivers. The beta drivers have been around for a while, but the WHQL version just came out a few days ago.

Otherwise, SSAO should work if you set your compatibility to pretty much any other Unreal Engine game. I use the one for Dragon Age: Origins occasionally, because it is a bit sharper and subtler.

Try that and see if you have any luck.

Hey Smarteck, great work on those textures again. Nice that you now also concentrate on structures and not just characters.

But I've got a problem: Every time I load up a combat scenario, with my weapons drawn - I get a horrible overlay texture obscuring the whole image. Re-rendering via alt+tab or alt+enter, as it is needed from time to time to play for example ME1 with Texmod, doesn't help. The whole screen is messed up by a transculent layer that looks like digital camo. Any ideas how to solve this?

Note: I'm using ALL your texture mods up to now plus some addional ones by me (Yes, I accept that the game takes ages to load up). I'm also using your 1.5 Illumination FXAA.

EDIT: It doesn't appear always but often enough.

Newbie question. I've done some looking but couldn't find an answer for this crash:

I've been playing ME3 smoothly with a number of mods (hi-res armors, Citadel, Normandy, etc.). I decided to add a few more as I enter act two -- Tali, Ashley, etc. I add them to Texmod this morning upon boot and, after a few minutes of the black screen, I get "Mass Effect 3 Has Stopped Working." I have a really good system, but still, maybe I just hit the mod limit. So I revert back to the mods I was using before -- same result. I roll back so far as to trying to load one simple mod for Shepard's hair, and it still crashes upon startup.

I have an Alienware M17x (i7 2760, 16GB RAM, 580m video card), so I'm a little vexxed by what my system is doing. Any recommendations?

Sounds like you need a tool named "large address aware". Dload, run whereever, choose ME3 exe and save. Now you should be able to use as many texmods as you wish.

But if it always crashing, I don't know. Maybe a problem with Texmod and your antivirus software (Then you wouldn't be able to even start Texmod).

it occurred to me the other day, the problem is not texmod is a game file is corrupted, the solution is to reinstall. Saved games do not suffer any change. You just have to reinstall the game.

Hello everyone, :D

A user sent me a lot of textures modified. I'm re-editing of a bit to let them even better.

The first package will be "Units of Cerberus 1". This will contain:

- Asault Tropers
- Centurions
- Guardians

The new textures have both reconstruction (original material) and re-texturing (new materials).

Soon I'll leave it in the post, I'am waiting to have a few more (like Legion and maybe some structures).

Salu2. ;)

Wow, can't wait for those Cerberus troops. Speaking of Cerberus, does anyone have TIM's maps?

You know guys the more I follow this thread and your magnificient work, the more I'm sure all original textures were made by little rookie freelancers. Now way home BioWare artists would make skins so low res. Great job, guys)

Awesome. Can't wait for the rest of these guys. Could you also take a look at Hackett's super-low res uniform and the Alliance troopers?

The original textures were probably fine. But then they had to scale the textures back for the consoles. They never bothered to give us better textures for the PC because that platform wasn't worth the extra time and development effort.

BTW:

Incomming, M-77 Paladin high resolution. :)

Hi guys sorry I didn't read throught the entire topic. I just want to ask, is there any way to repalce some textures permanently? Like default Shep armors, and Squad outfits.

I have a question, did anyone attempted any sort of model porting between the two games? Because I've discovered something utterly shoddy in the game.

Posted Image

Seriously, how lazy is that? You're telling me they couldn't pull his model from Arrival, and just removed the frontal leg off a regular Reaper? That is colossal laziness.

I was searching and maybe there is one way but I'm not a pro and because of the poor documentation (which is maybe because it is still in development) I don't know how to use it. this is it http://social.biowar...911/28#12196575
There is a short pdf tutorial how to change a texture but I don't understand it.
