Now I have another 7 additional MODs, soon I will share in the Post.

Another user sent me some excellent textures of a weapon, I'm in converzacion with him, to see if he has more textures to share with us.

Just downloaded all the textures, but had to add them into Texmod as "batches". As in, I couldn't select all files at the same time and load them into Texmod. Does anyone know why?

Same issue here -- there was a time when I could select them all at once, but I'm up to like 58 textures I'm using now and I can only select about 50, then add the rest afterwords. Perhaps there's a limit to how many files you can add at once or something.

I was thinking the same thing, I wonder if it has to do with maximum characters allowed in the filename box when you select an item.

Nah, doesn't work. Nothing happens when I have all 58 textures selected and click open to get them into Texmod, I have to cut down by 10 to get all those to load then get the others. Not a big deal but kinda interesting none the less.

Don't click open, press the enter key on the keyboard after they are all selected. Works for me.

Edit: Nevermind, went from 51 to 52 packages and it no longer works. 51 is my cutoff.

Confirmed here as well, 51 is the max you can enter in at once it looks like.

Her ME2 high resolution mod was redone for ME3. I'm running it. Works fine.

Maybe some sort of textures consolidation pack is in order? Bigger download, but it may cut down on bugs and load times.

Interesting stuff to note. Using 3 monitors, I'm having trouble with having all textures loaded. If I pull out two or three level / map textures for areas I've already been through, it works fine. Load all of them at once, and it crashes before ever loading back into the game. I suspect my VRAM usage with all three monitors enabled is too much even for 3GB of VRAM.

7680x1600 is just too demanding. At 2560x1600 (one monitor) I've no trouble loading them all.

That's what I call a crazy high resolution. Get a Nvidia (I suspect you have a 580) gadget for your windows 7 gadget bar. Just google them, but when you find it have it show you your current VRAM usage, run ME3 then minus the game after you've loaded into the game and see how much it's using.

Edit: With one 1920x1200 monitor I'm currently using 1.7GB of VRAM playing ME3

If you're forcing MSAA/SSAA via your drivers, here's something that might help as an alternative that might just save you some VRAM:

www.iryoku.com/smaa/

I find that I like the look of it better than hardware AA. Unfortunately, you'll have to kill FXAA Tool to use it.

**EDIT**

Actually, here's the link to the injector:

Guys, this is resulting me suspicious ... some textures seem to have been ruined on purpose via software ... look at these saws .. the rest of this texture is under the same conditions, is a complete disaster :pinched:, the same problem had the chest of EDI.

What the hell Bioware did with the textures? :huh:

Not sure about that. I was thinking compression artifacts, but those are usually blocky and pixelated. I'd say those look like squares or rectangles around the edges.

I wish this attention to detail was done for the other Mass Effect games.

So far Mass Effect 1 and 2 have only gotten a few armor textures and character textures redone.

I would like to see levels fully redone especially this one in Mass Effect 2.....yuck...

Looks like sloppy compression to me -- maybe compressed multiple times, which caused the artifacts.

I usually turned the diffuse map black and white, then recolored it based on the existing spec map. It's a pain, but yeah, a lot of these specular/normal maps are just a mess.

what kind of programs and methods are you guys using for fixing the textures? I have seen a lot of mistakes is some textures, like if you forgot some useful tools like clone stamp, smudge and even pen tool.. (photoshop) I do not use any other program than photoshop because they are less complete.

There is a good method for depixelating images, it's a new tool that comes with photoshop CS5 its called "Camera Raw" and eliminates noise and helps A LOT in terms of depixelating the whole image, it doesn't blur the image a lot like other tools. It can be opened via Mini Bridge (Mb)

Steps:

1. Open Photoshop CS5
2. Inside Photoshop make click on Mini Brigde icon (Mb) wich is located in the top menu bar
3. Now select the JPEG file (yes, only jpeg) you want to work with
4. Make RIGHT click on the file and select the option "Open in Camera Raw"
5. Select the DETAIL tool (right panel)
6. In Noise reduction, put the luminance at 100, and now you can play with the other options (do not touch the sharpening tool) I would recomend using a luminance detail level between 15 and 45 depending of the texture aliasing
7. When you feel satisfied with the result save the image.

Now you have a better depixelating method, it's not perfect of course, there is a minimal loss of detail but it will simplify your work making your texture easier to edit
