Also, I've found two rather jarring seams while playing with hi-res Sheploo face.

The forehead one is particulary visible near the sides, rather than in the center.

This one is really, really visible during the cinematics.
Good news, I just pulled an all nighter in order to try my best to tackle those unsightly seams.
Let me know if it was worth it.
~What I can remember doing~**Used high quality photoshop blending tools to add smarteck's skin texture
**Color matched face texture with neck texture
**Greatly improved alpha layer (eye brows, neck, forehead)
**removed skin texture from lips eyebrows and parts of eye lids
**decreased fill amount of skin texture on ears and neck (in my opinion it gave it a dirty look, also your neck and ears are typically smooth skin)
**took skin texture freeformed it shorter and placed it over top of neck texture (so when the neck texture was stretched out the skin texture was not stretched)
**made new skin for upper forhead replacing the overly sharpened part ( used stamp tool)
**color matching
**color matching.
**did i say color matching?
Sheploo (default male shepard) HD v1 *seams less noticable*docs.google.com/openI might try to work on this some more but some things I am no longer able to do because my power went out resulting in me losing 90% of my work in the PSD's leaving me with only the BMP's of the textures, luckily I was basically done by the time my computer shutoff.
My new edition and smarteck's as a comparison:

Thanks smarteck for informing me on how to add a alpha layer.

Any problems/improvments let me know!
