You primitive ! Nice work on Javik.

Is improved textured on quarians outfit still considered ?

Now I've started with the Armor of Vega, I believe that work will also be useful for other armors .. after that, I will take quarians the suits.

Quick question, I've been away for awhile and I'm playing catch up and the last I saw, someone figured out that the original format for the mods was too taxing on memory and figured out a new format which nearly doubled the amount of mods they could load in. So my question is, have the old mods been updated to that format or is that something we need to do as individuals? If the latter, how would I go about doing this? Because my computer can handle quite a bit, but currently I've been crashing a lot when I load all the ones I've gotten just from this forum.

Hello everyone, and thanks to anyone who created texture mods!

I got a question too; is there a chance I can make TexMod to load more textures?

I have tried loading each and every one of smarteck's textures so I could move on to add even more, but unfortunately I discovered I cannot load more than about 60 textures.

In addition I have tried adding 50 and then 50 again, but it does not work - it seems as if I am hitting the limit.

Please note that I am already running Texmod & ME3 in high priority and as Administrator.

Any suggestions are welcome, thanks in advance!

Attempts to load 40, if it fails, 30 .. not so much problem. ;)

smarteck thank you for your response; I have tried with less and it loads properly (about 50) - but that is a great limitation that is not coming from my computer but rather TexMod.

Is there a workaround for this?

Maybe if I could combine some altogether? For example what if I could combine all your map mods together, would the situation still be problematic?

That's what I suggested, for example have all the weapons mods in one tpf file.

Sorry I missed that - so I guess if we do that it works, can someone tell us how?

Assuming it is in fact a solution.

I'm currently running 74 mods without issue. For whatever reason, the Lessus Monastery mod causes issues with my machine. If I have that one selected it will crash when I try to load any save game. If I remove that one, it's all good. What's odd is that mod previously worked for me. So I have no idea what's going on with it.

I thought I was having an issue with that file as well because it was doing what I thought was the same thing. So I tried loading just that one tpf and it worked. Maybe it's not playing nice with other texture files and thus causing our crashes?

Which of the two versions is causing problems to you? The version of wadres or the I did?

//////

I think it's the one Wadres did. I'll have to check. Been awhile since I downloaded that.

wadres wrote...

I have to say the problem is not the mod I did (lessus monastery) and not the mod Smarteck did, the problem is the
map itself, it has some weird glitch

That very well could be. It's the only mod that's causing me issues. I removed it and everything's fine. Fortunately, there are far worse parts of the game which are longer and need the texture help more. So if I had to ditch one, I'm glad it's that. And the mod for that hidously pixelated bomb is still working thankfully.

Oh and I'm back to working on Liara's DLC armor and the Recon Hood. :)

I just wanted to thank you, it is because of you my game takes almost 10 minutes to load.... :P

And I was just about to ask for an update on the Recon Hood, thanks! My guy looks kinda silly with HR gear, and a low resolution helm.

Well uMod seems to be working. Almost.

uMod seems to be able to effectively load over 70 texture mods, however some crash both ME3 & uMod the moment they are added to uMod.

The ones I found so far were:

Male Shepard N7 Default Armor-Helmet HR4096 v1.1 No Blood
Dr. Chakwas High Resolution 4096 v1.0
2 Udina Default Suit HR v1.0.
2 EDI Default Nanosuit HR 4096 v1.2
1 Garrus Default Armor High Resolution 4096 v1.0

That does not include everything from smarteck, I tested 90% so far so there may be more.

On the bright side, I managed to load the "problematic" ones with TexMod simultaneously with uMod and so far so good. However I am getting some lock ups every now because of this condition, it is certainly not the computer, and I cannot figure out why.

Load times are incredibly fast because uMod adds mods on the fly, and templates save me from having to make a load list every time.

Having all of smarteck's mods combined is still preferable in my opinion though.

My question was because the MOD of wadres is in JPEG format, and because we are short of memory, it may be that the problem, but is no sure thing, when I test the MOD of wadres, I had no problems. Now with nearly 80 simultaneous files I have not made a test with version of wadres.

To see if the problem is the level or JPEG version of wadres, try both (the first one and then the other), if the problem is that I could convert MOD of wadres to "OPTIMIZED 2".
Somebody report the results of the test. :)

Thanks.

I'm running with about 2.4GB of VRAM being used with my current settings and 76 mods at the moment. So I should have plenty of VRAM available. I need to recheck system memory usage, but last time I looked I was sitting around 4GB or so on that. I've got plenty of system RAM available, but ME3 could conceivably run into problems if the memory usage gets out of hand.

All tests were conducted with your files only and when I could I downloaded non-optimized textures, the problem is that I cannot load more than a certain amount of files with Texmod not that I am running out of memory.

The ideal would be to combine many mods together, for example all structure / normandy / map textures to a single big file.

However as I already said, uMod is able to load many textures together, but the ones I mentioned, which for some reason crash uMod.

Again the problem is not "optimized files" rather the fact they are not combined so Texmod cannot work with them for some reason.

76 mods with Texmod?

Why the hell does Texmod refuses to load more than 50 to me darn it.

You could try this:

http://depositfiles....files/0f7s2mtji

It has 72 tpfs in one file

Are you talking about selecting them with Texmod or running more than 50? On the latter it's most likely available system RAM. I'm running a 64bit OS with 12GB of RAM. Mass Effect has taken upwards of 5GB+ RAM on my machine before we started converting most of the mods to .DDS files. Now memory usage is closer to 4GB for me. The trade off is VRAM usage, which I have a lot to spare.

As for selecting mods, I tend to select around 40 at a time and then select the other half. Works fine.

This is very nice, but which ones does it include?

And that is the problem, I do not know how to make one of on my own.

@ Dead_Meat357

Yes, for some reason re-selecting does not load anything, it simply stalls "loading".

I am on 64-bit too with 8GB RAM, I am not even close to 5GB+ RAM with 60 mods, maximum I saw was 3.5GB.

These high-res textures sure did make the EC even more enjoyable lol.

I like to put character textures priority over everything else personally, since the game has so many close-ups on characters.

Agreed, but some of the environments like the Normandy really needed to be addressed. The Normandy especially since you spend so much time aboard it. The Citadel as well.

I will create unified files, but I do not think it reduces memory consumption. I'll do it after finishing the armor of Vega.

use 920mb vram
use 2.3gb ram

Finally broke down and grabbed a copy of Photoshop CS6 to replace my copy of Photoshop CS. (The original, not CS2, 3, etc.) It's amazing how much faster I can get things done in this software. Hopefully I'll have the new recon hood done before too long.

Sorry to bump a previous post Wadres, but I really like the non-repitition fix you did for the Citadel and was hoping for a version without the added car/keeper textures. Thanks!
