Long time ago I left the HR skin of Kaidan in Skydrive. Is not perfect, but looks more human than the default.
Here is not very noticeable, because the image is 4096x4096 and "Imgur" has compressed too:

Zoom:

The original file in the "MOD" has much more quality.
EDIT: The MOD also includes the head and neck.

If I tracked down the texture models for blood spatter effects in the extended cut dlc file, would you consider doing it? That would take away the need to capture them.
If you find the file I edit. Just make sure to extract in format "DDS".

I'm already on it. I hate how you can't save in the ending so you have to play through the ENTIRE ****ING ENDING. <_<smarteck wrote...

Since my game just crashed (sigh - I think it autosaved) I did extract one of the bloody textures from the Rannoch mission. Can't guarantee if it's the same one from the EC though.
Download
Try this file, is at 2048x2048. I could leave it to 4096 if necessary.

I have figured out some tricks for doing human skin in high resolution, but I'd essentially have to start from scratch using the old texture as a frame work to get rid of the "dirty mechanics hands" problems the textures all seem to have. Do-able, but not easy. Diana Allers was really easy to work with because she didn't have that problem. Her skin took literally 3 minutes to improve. I just added a subtle grain to it like Smartek did on the ones he did. You don't see it too much at a distance, but it makes a world of difference up close.
If someone has decent rips of the underwear Shepard and the necessary layers that go with it, I'll take a crack it it. The EC blood texture too if Smartek doesn't beat me to that one. It may be complicated to fix, but I have to see it before I can even estimate the difficulty in doing so.
Also, I said I wasn't going to mess with the N7 Defender armor anymore, but I did. I found two problems playing the game with it this afternoon. These issues don't effect the white striped version, just the silver. (It's far less forgiving with regard to the lightmap.) I also noticed that I'm missing a light on the side of the armor. It's in the original texture. The earlier texture I used for my comparisons was made by IBR and he must have removed or forgot to include that light source. I've added it back in to the silver version, but not the white stripe version.
I'll post a link to what I really hope is my final version of the damned defender armor. Oh and Allers is pretty much done. The differences are hard to see at a distance, but you should notice them up close. Screenshots don't do it justice, but I'll post those anyway in a bit. Also, I included her flying camera bot / drone thing as well. I redid the main texture for it and upscaled it. I kept it at 2048x2048 since you won't spend much time looking at it and I wanted to keep the file size down. It was pretty bad. The lightmap for it was atrocious. 128x128 and pixelated to hell and back.
So I'll be posting that in a bit as well. Going to test the N7 Defender and Allers again before uploading them.
Update:
N7 Defender Armor v1.42
That should be it for the defender armor at last. (I know, I keep saying it but the last couple times have been bug fixes.)
Diana Allers + Camera Bot v1.0
And as promised, Diana Allers.

Trust me, this one looks a lot better in game than it does in the screenshots. You can barely see the leather texture on her clothes in the photo, but it's pretty vivid in the game. Especially when you talk to her.

Just did my EC run and the bloodied texture I provided before is indeed the same one on Rannoch. I'll test out the new one shortly. I alt tabbed out so there should be an auto-save right before the EC.
Ok .. I await your confirm it.

So, I was going to DL the recoded textures for Grunt, Tali and Zaeed and I wanted to know before I DL them are they 4096x4096 or 2048x2048?
4096x4096. Are the ones I used in ME2.
To prevent crashes, download the files in the "D Zone" from skydrive, in that place are optimized.

Uhm...yes. I have 41 mods that I use right now, and those textures alone are 625mb. If all the textures in the game was 4000x4000 the game would had been a lot larger. I don't know how large, but I am guessing it could have been up to 40gb large. That would have taken forever to download.Tequila826 wrote...

And with these mods we only get a few textures in every scene in high res, if all these textures would have been that big you would've needed quite the computer to run the game. Not to mention the load times between each level would have taken a lot longer as well.
And not to mention the time it would have taken to make two sets of textures for everything. One set for consoles and a whole another one for PC. It would have taken too much time and cost too much.
If you are expecting the next gen. to have 4000x4000 textures, you're gonna be disappointed.

There is no doubt that things could have done better, the problem is that the PC version is nothing more than a poor console port. I think the PC user we will have to wait for the next generation of consoles to have a bit more quality in games.
But Mr. .. I I've seen many of the textures of the game (source files) ... is shameful. <_<
in some cases, I took textures of ME2 (default) and use for ME3 MODs.

They create ONE set of textures at high resolution. Then it gets compressed to fit for the consoles.
It should fix all blood splatter effects on characters - the only other point I can think of where they use the effect is for the Quarian on Rannoch and the Cerberus soldiers on Sur'Kesh. Unless the character model already has it in it's texture (Jacob and Anderson) then it should fix it.Selvec_Darkon wrote...

Wrex has a blood splatter on him during the start of the cure the Genophage mission. And there's a similar effect when you wlak over a recently destroyed Ravager. Those are the only other ones I noticed.

They probably batch process all the textures in the game down to a lower resolution in addition to using compression. I'd wager the high poly mesh textures aren't 512x512 in size.

Agreed. The default textures for many objects in the game are pathetic on the PC version. There is simply no excuse for it.
