Some people might have an extra $200 to spend on this game. That's none of our business.
It *is* my business that I can't play MP at the moment for fear of losing all the progress I made.
When he makes it our business he invites any and all that he gets. If he had just made a post about how using the in-game credits for the packs is worthless, he'd get different results. The fact that he mentioned he actually spent real money on it gives anyone and everyone the ability to judge him. If he doesn't want to be judged on this, then he should never mention it.
It's like you said, it's none of our business -- until he decides to inform us.

For a leaderboard-position? And you didn't get anything useful? Really? I find it hard to believe.

You may have a point there, but I still didn't get mine across it seems. The supposed fact that he spent $200 on packs is in itself entirely uninteresting, and I'd say there's a rather large probability that we're being trolled here. The bug that takes away what people have unlocked on the other hand is interesting.

BioWarEA milked you; they milked you dry and they're laughing all the way to the bank. It's almost like a gambling addiction - the allure of making it rich keeps suckers coming on back. From a business standpoint I applaud EA for implementing something like this. Morally, however, it prays on gullible people.
Such is life.

I find it hard to believe you didn't get any good guns though. I've already got a new rifle (vindicator), I upgraded my M-37 Falcon to level 2 (it's the one that shoots grenades) and I've got a modified for my assault rifle as well already. So I find it really hard to believe that you spent $200 and didn't get anything useless. Exaggerating a little bit I think. Or perhaps ALOT.
depends on your perspective.
in SP i like using throw wiht my adept and i like the revenant for my weapon. it took me $20 dollars to accomplish that. $20 to finally almost fully enjoy playing MP.

I hear you there. I'm thinking of doing another $10 but trying to hold out for some DLC's.

I spent $10 on spectre packs and I thought that was too much. But 200 and nothing out of it? OUCH!
He's not saying he got nothing out of it, he's saying that he didn't get EVERYTHING out of it. I'm sure he's got plenty of N7 quality weapons and a vast majority of characters unlocked. In addition, only a few weapons were maxed out for him after buying 100 spectre packs. After opening 100 packs, he's saying the rewards he got aren't what he wanted.
From my experience I've found it's best to focus on buying Recruit Packs first till you get a vast majority of basic weapons and weapon mods maxed out then focus a bit on Veteran Packs. This will clear out the lowbie items (IE: Katana's, Mantis, etc) from showing up in the Spectre packs. Each pack still only has 5 iitems, and the pool of rewards it can pull from is limited by what you already have unlocked. This is especially true if you're going to dump some serious cash into the game.
So far it's worked for me quite well...but still can't get that damn N7 Assault Rifle

That actually doesnt sound too bad. I've bought a few spectre packs with credits already and have got some of the same characters over and over.

Seriously, even if one would have the income to spend that much money on a RNG-based unlock system in a videogame, the fact that OP is typing like a 12 year old makes it pretty obvious that he's just trollin'.

The only problem I have with those micro transactions are the *random* packs.
They should simply allow you to buy N7 weapons from a store when you hit a N7 rank of 100. In the singleplayer I don't spend credits on randomly generated gear either... But I understand this casino feature brings more $ to EA. And that's all what counts for them right?
