Not wanting to sound offensive but do you people understand how much some people spend on hookers, parties, cars? If he wants to spend 200 bucks on an online game so be it. Sure it's unnecessary, but if you work 9-10 hours a day you compensate your work stress with luxury... at least if you have a normal salary.
The only problem I have with those micro transactions are the *random* packs.
They should simply allow you to buy N7 weapons from a store when you hit a N7 rank of 100. In the singleplayer I don't spend credits on randomly generated gear either... But I understand this casino feature brings more $ to EA. And that's all what counts for them right?
I don't want to be fighting Donald Trump in my games like I potentially do in the real world. EA's Play4Free director might have commented a year or two ago that "Equipment-based Advantages" should be fine in video games, but it's not something I agree with. At that point we should just turn around and dump the whole reason we play these games to begin with.
