I think he was intentionally made this way...considering their entire race isn't what everyone thought they were...and considering the **** he went through before being frozen for 50,000 yrs. I'd be a dick too!
Is it just me or does everyone hate Javik?

I like Javik. Yes, as others say, he is a jerk, but he's my jerk.
I also note that when I called him on his gloom and doom he'd stop the bitterness and say something inspiring. Of course, I was 95% paragon. I wonder what responses a renegade would get.
The scene with Liara and Javik after Thessia was...interesting. Can't really say more than that.

Lmao that line he dropped had me hooked for him, and his comments after that towards the end, specially on Thessia, priceless.MrChowderClam wrote...

Javik is quite a character. He reminds me a lot of Zaeed, but you wouldn't expect the Sole Prothean alive to be Zaeed. All in all, he was funny, and mean, and I disliked him at first, but he was intended to be unlikeable.
I also don't judge the Protheans too harshly because of him. If the Asari picked up a random American soldier in the depths of Vietnam, except a million times worse, what impression do you think they'd get?

He's a jerk - but given his life and where he is at - do you blame him?
Regardless - somehow he was one of the guys to come out of the you know what at the end.

I actually liked the guy, and could understand where he was coming from. Guy was frozen for 50,000 years and learns that everything he knew is long dead, or has changed drastically. Like all the primitive life-forms now ruling the galaxy. Not my favorite character overall for the series, but definitely one of the better ones for ME3.

Maybe the fact that his civilisation has long been turned to ash and dust makes him brood a little more than he actually intends. Perhaps he would be more joyful if he had awakened along with some of his troops, and not just being the only one.
That being said, I didn't care much for him as a squad member. I found Liara to be more useful as a biotic. Maybe it's just me being more aware of her weaknesses and strength from ME1 and 2.

I love Javik so much that I DEMAND that there be new DLC for ME1 and ME2 that would include him.
I have to see his reaction to the Volus "Biotic God."

I know he's a Prothean and all that blah blah... But he's kind of a dick. Every conversation I have with him or overhear makes me want to punch him or completely put his species into extinction. The whole bit with Liara made me come to this conclusion. Anyone else hate this mug or what?
It's not his fault.
He's a prothean and he's pissed.
Reapers literally raped (sorry for the word) his world.
Why you wouldn't be such a dick if you found that after 50.000 years reapers are coming again and worse, the primitive species now has the control of your planet?
Don't blame him, learn to understand him

Javik was awesome. I clicked on every artifact on Thessia just to hear him shut down Liara.

I like him a lot.
I thought I would dislike him and never choose him in my squad, but it's the complete opposite.

I really wish I brought him along for that. I brought EDI and she kept saying the same thing, it was funnier than hell.

Javik is defiantly awesome. Yeah he may be pissy with Liara, but its funny as hell on Thessia with him and a whole bunch of other missions.
He's pissed off at the Reapers for killing his enitre specie/race whatever you wanna call it. Maybe thats why people don't like or simply cause he bashes Liara which is funny cause I don't care for her much.

The part with liara was a bit of a redemption for him in my eyes. At least after I did the paragon interupt. I think there was a paragon interupt...
Yeah hes an ass but he's also the most interesting character in the game just as a doorway to learning about the true Prothean culture and getting a new perspective on the whole reaper cycle, so that makes a big difference.
