Whose been practicing necromancy?

Anyway, Javik is audacious, unapologetic, doesn't abide by political correctness, and doesn't kiss Shep's ass.

Of course he would be hated by the "primitives."

But I love him to death. <3

Agh, I hate that guy! From the first time he slagged of Liara I wanted to poke out one of his ridiculous 4 eyes. I don't care what you've gone through Prothy, back off from my girl. {smilie}

The truth stings eh? Your waifu's race of blue space bimbos are nothing more than an experiment by higher lifeforms.

I think Javik is fantastic.

I hate the practice behind the From Ashes DLC, though.

I'm wondering to myself if the appreciation of Javik is much more than an appreciation of 'troll' behavior. That's certainly something the BSN seems to have great respect for.

I think he's okay. The people who revere him as a god, however, need to finish their milk and go to bed.

There's school in the morning.

I am not a fan of the character archetype and Javik is no exception. At least he's a DLC character and I can skip him.

Perhaps you should read through the previous pages of the thread and learn why people appreciate him.
He's a hardass and a dick, I won't lie, but I ****ing adore this guy.

He's like the male version of Ashley, except he can be funny sometimes. That Salarian fly comment XD

I found him to be quite an interesting character. The reason why you may consider him a jerk is because he was raised to be a soldier in a doomed war against the Reapers long ago. His people turned out to be more aggressive and war like then expected as well. Besides...won't you be a bit dark and doubtful since your own super powerful civilization was completely wided out and you were the last of your kind? He does open up more and become less of a jerk, but he still is harsh at time because he is willing to do anything to get revenge on the Reapers.

Javik is awesome! He's refreshing and a great addition to the team.

I find his commentary to be interesting on many missions, and his interactions with the crew fascinating and even funny. Yes, he's not the most polite or personable but its just part of his history and personality.

He is what renegade shepard should've been LOL.

I like Javik as a character. He's alien to all of them. I like that.

He starts out as a jerk but he kinda grows on you and softens a tiny bit without completely changing who he is. Not my favorite but he was well done.

Javik is sweet, even for a dead race that sounds Jamacan, and he feels more fleshed out then Ashley who you would think Bioware would of spent a ton more effort on considering fans have been pounding on the door since ME2 about her.

Javik is the bitter and twisted sole survivor of a once proud and powerful race that dominated the galaxy. He has seen everything he fought for die in the most brutal way imagineable, and has lived nothing but war, tragedy and death. His viewpoint is one of extreme military necessity and paranoia, a product of his time. He understands and explaines this to others. Trying to  play "hey, lets be friends" after learning that you are the sole survivor of a centuries long brutal genocide probably isn't going to jive well with most.

Of course he is going to come off a bit...unrelatable. But he's actually a rather cool character, and eases up as it all goes on.

I love Javik. Considering what he's been through, his behavior and perspective is understandable.

Javik is incredible. I love this take on the Protheans, and having him around during a Liara romance doubles his importance.

No. I like him. Despite his harsh attitude and beliefs, he is an interesting character.
And so on and so forth.

You know, funny thing about Javik that you just reminded me of.

All this talk about Javik being the 'toughest' character. The most 'badass.' The most 'hardcore.' And you know what Javik himself admits? He's shaped by war like a stone and more importantly, the stone has no choice.

Did you notice that, Dreamgazer? I sure noticed.

No choice.

He's not the most powerful character, Dreamgazer. He's the most helpless. He's surrendered his power. The only words he has are those given to him and placed in his mouth. Hell, the only thoughts he has are those given to him and placed in his head. He's the most dependent companion there is. War puts the words in his mouth, and he obediently speaks them, despite very clearly showing he doesn't believe them. He's too weak to challenge the hypocrisy.

Perhaps some people find the idea of intelligent life being nothing more than sacks of helpless chemicals compelling. I certainly don't.

Good to know that War isn't the only thing that never changes.

No. You have once again shown how unheroic you are.

Tell me, Cheesecake, how does liking powerless character like Javik make you feel more powerful? You have surrendered your power and have rendered yourself helpless.

The trolls put words in your mouth, but you're too helpless to speak up against the hypocrisy of the forums.

I don't hate Javik, but I don't like how Liara spends all her time with him and her shadow broker crap. After losing Ashley for most of the series, and losing Liara to her other interests, I finally jumped on the Tali wagon. :P

Javik's the last survivor of a species that dominated the galaxy prior to the arrival of the Reapers. He reminds me of NWN's Old Ones in a way. I like him well enough.

I like the voice actor a lot, but kind of hate the character. The game doesn't need any more downers than it already has. He's like some of the crazy people I've met who've fought in brutal situations (like this crazy Lebanese chef who fought over there in the 80s).. so he's realistic enough. He just doesn't have.. say.. a lust for life. That's makes him different than other ME Renegades. He hates life and hates everyone else's conception of life. He doesn't bring any joy to battle, like an Oghren from Dragon Age or Grunt or Zaeed or Wrex or Jack. He's just an assh*le and nothing more.

I should add that the one thing I find him good for is he's my proxy for saying things to Liara that I'm not "allowed" to say with Shep himself. I'm not one of those people who want kill her or anything, but don't want to coddle her too much. They both provoke a lot of resentment from me though.. they show more of who I don't have on my squad, than who I do have.

Javik is amazing. He's a product of his time and completely subverts what we were expecting out of him. Brilliant character.

My only regret is the lack of options to troll him back.

True enough.

I think I just hate both of them for being too serious.

I'm not even this serious in real life dangers. I've had a problem with laughing in fights. Maybe it's delirium. And when it comes to games, I just prefer it even more.. Just bombastic fun and comic booky-ness, I guess. Call me shallow. To hell all of this "war drama" sh!t. Realism is great when it comes to the romances and friendships, but not with the goddamn Reaper war itself. They needed to lighten that part up. Turn it into an epic Godzilla movie or something. More killing giant robots, less crying and genocide.

I don't dislike Javik. In fact he pretty cool.

I do dislike the fact he was supposed to be a integral part of the story but instead became Day One DLC.
