Amusingly, prior to release they made it abundantly clear that they "[didn't] want to pull a Lost" on the fans...

I stopped watching L.O.S.T. after time travel got involved. I hate time travel in any story.

Even back to the future? Or Terminator? Or this:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bBBw9E2Q_aY

Also. Apparently some of your squadmates you take with you do somehow survive. I brought Javik with me and he was running right behind me towards the blue light thing. And yet at the ending I see him waltzing out of the Normandy.

It seems the B.astard cheesed it when I was running toward the relay thing >_>.

well said OP. After reading this I feel like a weight has been lifted off my chest. The idea that after the bright flash when you are charging to the beam all takes place in you mind makes perfect sense to me. Now the issue of full closure remains.

I really appreciate the amount of thought you've put into this OP. Unfortunately, I just can't buy it.

I don't think you're wrong, or stupid, or crazy. I just think we're all spinning ourselves into black holes trying to reason or justify the ending. It can't be done, and we're only frustrating ourselves even more.

I think the sooner we all just accept that the end basically boils down to "let's just hurry up and get this over with so we can start working on the Mass Effect MMO", the better off we'll be.

Yeah. I mean, there's always a good chance I'm just wrong and it was simply a horrible idea. I just like to think I'm right. I still can't play the games again with this ending, and hope for some sort of correction in the form of DLC.

Oh yes. A "true ending" dlc that will cost 20 bucks and give EA a new idea of doing that with every single game that they release. Thus raking up moar moneh.

Yes, the ending had meaning.  If you have strong expectations it can be hard to see this.

It would be nice if the ending had a little more literal relevance though.

If it costs more than 10 and isn't accompanied by an apology, this will still be the last damn bioware product I touch.

I had EDI and Garrus. Both survive unless you pick the Destroy ending. So my guess is all of the squadmates survive. Apparently, they have learned a hidden special ability "Teleport" that doesn't show up in the skill tree! Boy, oh boy, the breeding Liara is gonna have to do now... :?

I'm feeling a bit lost.. i had looked forward to coming out alive and seeing my character's L.I and maybe having a video of what happens next in the universe but instead i was given a short ending of an old man telling his son of my character and of the normandy crashing on a planet. I really hope they bring another ending in dlc, like mass effect 2's ending
