I had a random idea after finishing the game about half an hour ago: What if having Javik gave a better ending?
Maybe he could insist on being in your party during the final battle and would automatically fill one of the squad member slots. After getting knocked out by the reaper laser, you beam up to the citadel. The three choices could be the same even, just executed differently like through dialogue instead of walking up to the different platforms. You make your choice and it would show Shepard about to carry out the action. Javik hobbles out of nowhere and interrupts you, revealing that he too lived through the blast and insists that he be the one to carry the choice out.
I think it would be a perfect end for him since he already expressed that he was going to go commit suicide after it was all over anyway. This could be the vengeance he seeks for his people and give him a better ending instead of just going off and killing himself. I think it would be fitting for the last surviving Prothean to break the cycle.
Plus, Javik could give Shepard enough time to get picked up by the Normandy before doing what was chosen. That would at least give you the idea s/he was with the people s/he cares about in the end, no matter what happens when the crucible is fired.
I know it seems like Shepard should be the one to make the final sacrifice and put an end to it, but at least this would give the DLC a lot more worth. I find Javik interesting and all, but I'm still kinda "meh" about his DLC. People are already saying they'd pay for a better ending.
Probably sounds stupid, but after what I just saw I'm pretty sure anything would be better than what we got. XD

I would have really liked Javik to have a personal crisis when he realizes Reapers are preservations of species from previous Cycles.
Think about it, one of the Reapers IS the Protheans, or at least, what is left of them. Would you want to destroy the last remnant of your civilization, no matter how warped it was? Could've been a cool conversation.

I don't think it sounds stupid. XD
I loooove Javik, and I agree I think something as important as being the LAST SURVIVING PROTHEAN probably could have had some more consequences.
I mean, he was planning to go back and kill himself anyway after their victory, I think him sacrificing himself to kill the reapers would have had so much meaning.
I think Javik making the final sacrifice would make much more sense than Shepard, actually. He's vengeance incarnate for his people, afterall.
ETA: It'd probably HAVE to be the Destroy path by default though if you let Shep decide to allow him to go through with it.
And it'd tie-in, too, since the Destroy route is the only way to let Shep live anyway with or without Javik.

Yeah but think about javiks moral issues. He is very different to shepard and I don't know if he is the right one to decide about the future of a galaxy he doesn't live in anymore... just saying
