Alright, I finished the game last night and honestly, loved the game, expected more missions, and conflicted with the ending. Honestly, I have to say I'm on the same boat as everyone else here about my feelings on the ending. After playing all three games, doing as many possible missions as I can, including the DLC's for 1 and 2, I felt that the finally lacked as much of a conclusion as i had hoped.
But I don't believe the game is over. Over the past year or so, the team has thrown out how they've felt about fixing issues and adding to the final game. Quite honestly, I think they might still have a chance of pulling it off with the game.
-Not sure if anyone else bothered to notice, but there wasn't much on vehicles like the Mako or Hammerhead
-I was expecting a return of Omega and having a mission about taking it back
-The dark energy plot can still be brought in
Point is, I'm hoping that Bioware may still bring in somethings soon in the future. The ending did not bring much satisfaction as it felt more like the Catalyst was saying "I do this because I do, there is no other reason."
Truly felt like a BS explanation about the Reapers reasoning. If they really wanted to do this ending, the least they could have done was explain their origins and have a better plot for them rather than just saying we'll create things that will fight us so we'll kill you before that happens. The Prothean, if you got and talked to him, explains that his kind were doing well against their own synthetic war.
Honestly, the dark energy plot originally thought of apparently, felt like it would have had a better explanation and ending than some kid AI playing God and judging for everyone every 50000 years. Also, would have prefered seeing my Shep being with his LI at the end. If there was a better ending, I probably could have dealt with him dying at the end. But, honestly, I felt the ending to screwed everyone over after everything you may have done in the past two game. Almost like the only thing good for the side missions was to find war assets and thats it. No conclusion of seeing how averyone is doing after you end the war. Would have preferred seeing how the other races are doing at the end like the geth and quarians living side by side and all.
Also, don't think having the Mass Realys destroyed would be too big of a deal for the future as the Protheans managed to make their own, so making our own might not be that far fetched in the endings. Otherwise, compared to other games and stories where you sacrifice yourself for the greater good, it felt like you get screwed no matter what in this game.
So gameplay wise is a 10
story is a 10
ending 3
Game felt so different and amazingly fresh and great as I played. Talked more with each other, giving more of a social feel to them. The ending was a disappointment. I'm not really mad. Just disappointed. I really did expect much more from Bioware. Did so well with the hype and presentation. Started off well. But feel like you guys got sloppy at the end and just went with a whatever feel to end things. Very disappointed there.
Still not over
