So I just finished ME3...

From the beginning on Mars, to the Turian moon and meeting Garrus, to meeting Wrex again and going to Sur'Kesh and then to Tuchanka, then the curing of the genophage and Mordin sacrificing himself was awesome stuff. All the missions on Tuchanka were freaking amazing. The battle on the Citadel at the end of Act 1 with Kai Leng, Thane, Udina, and the Council as well as the VS as a Spectre was brilliant stuff. I was LOVING this game at that point.
Act 2 started, mostly with the quarians and geth and a few Asari troubles. The climax of Act 2 was Rannoch and defeating the Reaper Destroyer, allying the geth and the quarians together, and Legion sacrificing himself to give the geth self-awareness. I was still REALLY enjoying the game at this point.
Act 3 starts off awesome as well. Thessia was a baller mission, with the Prothean beacon, Kai Leng, and crazy tough fights against those damn Banshees. Horizon was a great continuation of the story at that point, proving that TIM was, indeed, a madman, and Miranda getting revenge against her father. Onto the Cerberus base, and that part of the game was damn spectacular. I loved seeing the background of the Lazarus Project, and TIM's way of trying to influence Shepard. I was kinda disappointed to not see TIM in his chair, and Kai Leng wasn't much of a boss(Black Widow sniper rifle took care of him in short order), but it was good to get it out of the way.
Then on to Earth, The London mission was greatness. Getting to talk to all the squaddies before embarking in London was a great way to provide closure. Some very emotional moments in those conversations, especially if you have an LI in there(mine was Liara). The fight was a hard-ass fight from the beginning to the end of the mission. Holding the Thanix missle battery was the hardest fight in the game, as it should be. Then, you run to the white light, and then get shot by Harbinger's Red Light of Death. You then wake up, light beam to the Citadel, so on and so forth. Then you get to the Citadel Control Room.
This is where it gets dicey for me. I expected the encounter with TIM to be similar to the fight with Saren in ME1. Obviously, with Shep bleeding out and just a pistol, that wasn't really an option. The conversation with TIM was awesome stuff, seeing his thought process and his indoctrination. But then no boss battle? This was supposed to be the climax of the series, and all it takes is a single bullet to kill TIM? Weak. Anyhow, with TIM dead, you then stumble to the control panel and open the arms, and then(supposedly) start bleeding out. Then the white platform of life rises up, and Shep gets talked to by the Cipher, with Shep looking almost healed and not bleeding out. We then can make the decsion to destroy, control, or synthesize the Reapers. Control, destroy, OK. I get it. I'm cool with those choices. Synthesize, I don't really get it, but I'll see what it is later.
Then it goes nuts. Relays get destroyed. The Normandy lands on a weird alien planet, and Garrus steps out of the Normandy, even though he died in the run to the light beam in London. TheNormandy's crashing and landing in a weird alien planet undoes the entire stinking thing.
Here is what I would have done: Destroy/control the Reapers, with the tech staying(Mass relays most notably) and then show a montage of the galaxy rebuilding: geth helping the Quarians on Rannoch; Garrus assisting with operations on Palaven; Liara advising on Thessia, and so on. Shep dying is w/e to me, yes it is sad but you can work that out.
So the final score? I spent 33 hours on my first playthrough: the first 32 hours and 45 minutes were pure bliss. The last 15 minutes shot it all to hell. Mass Effect 3 IS still the best game I've ever played. I wish the endings were better, though.
Thank you, BioWare, for such a fantastic game. I just wish I was able to thank you about the endings, as well...

Bioware did the right thing, this isn't some JRPG, there is much more to the endings than there seems to be, you simply have to fill in the gaps.

no, it says that anyone willing to take the poll hates it. it's an incredibly skewed data set.

this is why im glad none of thes eposters will ever be in the gaming buisness because they are completly one sided
give it time becaus eone dlc comes up youll see alot of butt kissing by the people who have said the most disgusting things

1. Destroy all synthetic life to stop the Reapers, which in turn will kill all geth(making Legion's sacrifice and all the effort put into that for nothing), destroy EDI and possibly Shepard himself.
2. Synthesize with the Reapers, allowing a new DNA cross. This one...doesn't really make sense.
3. Control the Reapers.
Number 3 I understand and don't really want to do. Number 2...dunno about that one. But...number 1 leaves me with a bittersweet feeling. First off, I romanced Tali, even brought her and Garrus with me on the mission. I'm hoping my squad's still alive. However, if I pick this option, Joker loses EDI, Shepard could die(which will make Tali devastated), all geth will die(again, Legion sacrificed himself for nothing)...that...sucks.
Then there's the thing with the stranded Normandy I heard about...why is it not at Earth? Why would my squad be on the ship when they were down on Earth with me? What is this I don't even.

I think it is safe to say that MANY many people are upset with the endings and that a lot a fewer people are not. Doesn't demerit either opinion. Opinions are opinions.
but theres a difference between opinion and being just flat out ignorant
you know who i blame for the ignorance on here? the die hard old school rpg fans.... i mean god forbid they just said the games trash because of a stupid 5 minute cutscene of the normandy
they cry moan and complain like omg the old bioware is dead or baulders gate was the last great rpg by them * eye roll*
seriously sometimes i think this board is just filled with middle aged men looking like comic book guy from the simpsons
this isnt a attack its just how i feel regarding whats going on here lately

Syntesis ends the cycle of war between syntetic and organic life, so it´s and ultimate ending IMO and control is just that. Shepard can according to some survive destroy, but the cost is IMO too high.

I thought the game was excellent, except for the ending. Don't dismiss the complaints as people just wanting a Disney ending. That's not what most of the critics want.
I think I understand Bioware's choice, so I couldn't really blame someone for liking the ending. But those who disagree with you are fans rather than trolls. We're all on the same side here. (+ 15 Paragon points)
