I don't know, 6K people say it sucks... if something sucks enough to get 6k people to say it does then it really sucks. Seriously, what's it with BioWare and always wanting to kill the protagonist in some misguided self righteous sacrifice?

At least with DA:O you could bone the goth hottie and live a hero! :D ... if you were a guy. See if gaming was as coed as modern society would have you think then a lot more women would have cried out very soon after the game came out. As much as I'd like there to be as many female gamers as there are guys, there really aren't and that outcry was missing.(Sorry to burst your bubble gamer gals, you don't need to justify your existence by claiming as many girls play video games as guys do, believe me I wish it was true). What happened there was that a large portion of the demographic was pleased and all was well.

In this instance... the whole of the demographic was screwed in having real choices or a reasonable ending. Instead everyone gets choices A, B, and C which make your previous choices, including the ones in the previous games, irrelevant. This arrangement isn't copacetic to players who have grown to enjoy the freedom of choice and thrill of reaping the consequences of those choices.

I'm not gonna lie: I wanted a Disney ending. Something like ME1.

That said, I'm OK with Shepard dying. I knew it might happen from the time I first picked up the ME series. But is there something wrong with wanting a happy ending?

No there's not, and they should have taken into consideration all the options (or most of them) we've chosen through the games and implement them into different endings, not boil down the whole thing into choose A, B or C.

I just wanted ANY of my choices to mean something other than an arbitrary number for my EMS rating.

I agree with twisty77, yeah I wanted a disney ending. I love happy endings and I wanted my favorite video game character ever to have one. But I would have been satisfied with a bitter-sweet ending if it had made sense and if I felt like my decisions really had an affect. I went into the game knowing Shepard would most probably die but hoping against hope that she would pull off something epic and come out alive but the endings I got were just bad. I didn't get to do anything epic I just got to choose the least bad of three bad choices.

I'm not normally one to demand a "happy" ending, but I really wanted one here. Count me in the "loved the first 99%" club.

I admit I wanted the Disney ending. I worked hard expecting that to get the Disney ending, i'd have to work had. 32 hours. 7000 War Assets. 100% Galactic Readiness.

Garbage. All Garbage. When I got the choice I was staring at my screen, scoffing and yelling with rage.

I'm currently looking at the choices...I don't know what to pick.

1. Destroy all synthetic life to stop the Reapers, which in turn will kill all geth(making Legion's sacrifice and all the effort put into that for nothing), destroy EDI and possibly Shepard himself.

2. Synthesize with the Reapers, allowing a new DNA cross. This one...doesn't really make sense.

3. Control the Reapers.

Number 3 I understand and don't really want to do. Number 2...dunno about that one. But...number 1 leaves me with a bittersweet feeling. First off, I romanced Tali, even brought her and Garrus with me on the mission. I'm hoping my squad's still alive. However, if I pick this option, Joker loses EDI, Shepard could die(which will make Tali devastated), all geth will die(again, Legion sacrificed himself for nothing)...that...sucks.

Then there's the thing with the stranded Normandy I heard about...why is it not at Earth? Why would my squad be on the ship when they were down on Earth with me? What is this I don't even.

Three is the Paragon ending, and the only one that IMO leaves any hope for Shepard to survive. I picked destroy first, big mistake. Yes, she wakes up in a pile of rubble later.. and IMO coughs a few times and dies again lol.

By controlling the reapers, you don't actually destroy any of the work you have done. Likewise, with such advanced technology, one could easily imagine Shepard not only creating a body for herself to interact with her old friends with (not to mention giving them a ride), but also rebuilding the relay network, and helping the different races rebuild their worlds. Within a few years, with a fleet of reapers at your command, you could completely rebuild the galaxy.

I hate the term ****, but im starting to see the meaning behind it. That is not a good thing. So let me break this down as orderly as I can

1.) The ending of a game, movie, book, or any form of media can make or break the experience. those ending five minutes broke the experience for a lot of players. Not only were those five minutes full of plot holes but they essentially negated most your choices in the games. Yeah those thing bioware said would impact the ending didnt impact it at all. Renegade, paragon. Doesn't matter you still get the same three endings. Thats why the ending are bad. Not because they're all pretty sad but because our choices dont matter. They didnt deliver on what they promised

2.) Some people think Bioware can write whatever they want, and can have the game end however they want. They say Bioware dosnt owe us. the fans, a thing. Bioware is a entertainment company of sorts, if you make your fans unhappy. The people who support you by buying your product. Then youre future revenue is going to suffer. So no they technically dont owe us a damn thing, but they should want to make sure they're fans are happy or be prepared to lose them. You wouldn't eat at a restaurant that spits in your meal would you?

3.)The consensus is that the ending is bad. The general community typically agrees. Now you can say. "But guy who never posts here, Im part of the general gaming community and I like the endings." I would tell you that you one person. "But guy there are others who like the game too." This is true and I respect their opinion as much as I respect yours. However 3,000 who liked the endings to 50,000 that do not it not a positive ratio. "Shepard-Commander, we have reach a consensus. 937 programs to 246 programs have found the ending of Mass Effect 3 dis-pleasurable. We have concluded that organic life may also find the ending unsatisfactory."
