After beating the game and seeing my ending, credits scroll by and now I'm back on an old save on the normandy? Is this normal for everyone else? Couldn't we have a map without the reapers all over the map or is this the case because my shepard died?
Beat the game, now what?

Yes its normal, not quite sure why you expect anything different. In all ending the relay network is destroyed, the normandy is destroyed, even if your shepard survived he wouldnt be traveling the galaxy anymore. He'd be stuck in sol with the starving turians and Quarians.

You aren't on the Normandy after the Reapers are destroyed. You are back on the Normandy right before the assault on the Cerberus Headquarters.
