I think the fact that such an unbelievable stretch is required to make the ending satisfying should be telling.

It's a stretch to think that the cycle is broken?

All right, then.

It's a stretch to derive closure in a character driven story from the expectation that their great X 500 grandchildren, to whom we have no attatchment, won't be incinerated 50,000 years in the future.

I am not upset about the endings. I think I am the only one on this page who actually liked the destroy reapers ending. Its not sitting in thr dark.

There isn't. That thread's just so busy that it stays permanently at the top.

If you're happy about the endings then fine be happy about them. I'm glad some people can get some enjoyment out of them. I'm not happy about the endings and I'm not ever going to be. I've had two days stretching my brain trying to find something to be happy about with them and still all I can think is what a horrible ending to such an amazing game. And for me the destination was every bit as important as the journey.

Do I need to get you a copy of The Selfish Gene?(I don't know if I'm old or what but I still remember it being refrenced in the game Parasite EVE along with its writer Richard Dawkins) We don't play these games to be invested in imaginary future generations of other races and species! The game isn't called "MARTYRDOM 3" it's called MASS EFFECT 3. Most of us would like it to be in line with the other two. If we wanted something else we'd be playing something else.

Bad story telling. Bad logic. A dark ending does not rationalize it.

You can't get away from the fact that the most destructive being we see in the series, SEE, not get told about in exposition, is Shepard, moments before the NPC's we've had the most time and emotional investment with are screwed over for no reason, with no explanation, and inspite of all logic and reason.

Getting kicked in the nuts by 3 interchangeable, bar the colour of the space magic the 'I Win!' button, endings they give us, simply because we had the audacity to care about the things these 3 games were built around making us care about, then having Bioware act like we should be happy because we saved a bunch of imaginary people we've never seen or have had any reason to give a toss about is bafflingly hurtful.

How are you help- Oh I see what's going on here.

Funny, your solution to helping the community is to tell us to shut up about it, simultaneously telling us to cheer up but to also accept that we just destroyed galactic civilization. Either you're doing this for ****s and giggles or you've got one hell of an ego.

I'm more upset with the lack of definition and explanation than the ending itself (having the Normandy crash-land on a lush planet is obviously better than them landing on a deserted planet; the future SEEMS hopeful but even then I can only hope as there is no firm indication of this beyond the stargazer scene) - while it would be VERY nice to see what came as a result of my actions (Krogan, LI, etc.) I was more upset and concerned with how the trilogy chose to wrap itself up.

Introduce a catalyst-kid out of nowhere, have him explain to Shepard the nature of the reapers in 2 minutes, and then have you pick one of three options that HE offers you. If I resolved the genophage and the geth/quarian issues, Shepard should have been able to throw these into the kid's face and declare to him "YOU GUYS ARE WRONG. THE CYCLE IS WRONG." Shepard should have been able to make an "ending" himself, not subject himself to a thing that never really wanted to help us to begin with.

Too many questions raised. I want **** addressed.

im thinking 2 things and that is either people are just cluttering the boards to ruin this place for others or they really are blind and dont even see the thread

As unfortunate as that may be, this is probably going to continue for some time as newer people show up after finishing the game. I am not saying complaining is going to solve anything, but where else are people supposed to go to rant and rave, isn't that kind of the point of a message board?

Soon, we are going to have threads asking people that are complaining about the complainers to stop complaining about it. And no one can stop them. More new threads are thus created and cluttering up the board more and more. It's not exactly a new pattern on the boards. Resistance is futile. Read what threads you think would interest you and disregard the rest as fluff.

We don't care about the races that will rule the galaxy in a gagillion years. We didn't spent three games becoming emotionaly attached to them.

If I want a bad end where even winning is but a phyric victory, I read a Warhammer40k book.

Comparing them to this mess? Thats an insult to Warhammer 40k books.

Yep, Warhammer 40k can be campy in its grimdarkness, this...feels so horribly out of place it's not funny.

yeah at least 40k you know what you're getting into this ending...was so unexpected. I remember telling myself there was no way they could ruin the game it was impossible. and somehow they ruined it for me...

Well, at least the W40K books are interesting and you don't feel like crap at the end, despite their grimdarkness. Most of the time, their heroes are struggling until the end, spitting at the face of bloodthirsty Gods and laughing at them while they are teared appart.

These endings were not so lucky...

Damn, if only we had a few Astartes to help Shepard, those Reapers wouldn't have last long :D

OP this is bull****

This is a GAME for god's sake.
I don't give a hell about some imaginary race that i didnt and will not see i've just given my life to. This is NOT a proper ending for the stiry of Shepard and co.

When your relatives die due to an incurable sickness does it confort you that after 500 years there will be  1 man born immune to it?
