I've been seeing this assertion tossed around multiple times, but I've redone the destroy ending multiple times and seen no indication that this is the case. Yes, synthetics will die, but it doesn't say that all other technology will die with them.

Doesn't mean I like the endings, but I would like some clarification.

Also, my Shepard finished the game with an EMS of 4400+ and I didn't get tehe "breathing chestplate" thing before the credits started. Something wrong?

The Relays stop working. That's what people are referring to.

The Normandy seemed to go pretty bad in the ending, but that could be due in the jump of a relay or whatever the hell Joker was up to. Either way, I assume all tech working at that point was destroyed.

But I don't think any tech they create afterwards will be ruined.

Most of the galactic fleet is orbiting Earth, fighting the Reapers at the time, so alien civilizations will still be able to interact with each other on a micro level (the Turians/Quarians are going to be screwed without proper food though).

The destruction of the mass relays is a completely unnecessary plot element though. The mechanism of the crucible is not explained and I'm sure that the scientists constructing it must have known HOW it would work.

Firstly not all the reapers were around earth, a "super-weapon" that didnt use the relay system would be useless.

Ofcourse that doesnt diminish the problem of them going self destruct, perhaps it was an overload to get the required area of effect?

Well, the crucible could have been some sort of doomsday device that emits some powerful energy that disables all reapers within a system. With most of the Reaper fleet concentrated around Earth, much of the Reaper forces
would be destroyed. The Citadel/Catalyst can be moved, so it could be brought to other systems requiring cleanup.

Only the relays are affected. Everything else is an assumption.

Which is bad enough since it would take up to 22 years to travel to a distant location in the galaxy without them. Galactic civilization is definitely fragmented at least for a century or so.

Depressing that EDI and the Geth have to die for this ending. I took it though. Reapers needed to be destroyed and I don't think merging people with machines was morally right without their approval.

I don't recall that. Does his dialogue change depending on EMS?

The fact that Shepard can still be alive in this ending means he was lying or just wrong. Who knows? Maybe the Geth and EDI survived as well.

Well, a Mass Relay just exploded releasing all its energy, any system located near a Mass Relay just got effectively destroyed... which is most races homeworld. Krogan, Asari, Turian, Salarian, Human... all those homeworlds near a mass relay

He says something along the lines of "in which you're partly synthetic yourself" when talking about the destroy option, which implies that you might die or not,

Nope. They didn't go out like that apparently.

The kid's exact words: "You can wipe out all synthetic life if you want. Even you are partly synthetic."

So yeah, super vague.
