I'd rather had Wrex on my team, someone I know from the start, not some boring beefcake with nothing interesting to tell/say.

Prothy the Prothean is way cooler, since he's something new. Wish we could talk more to him/have more missions with him since he's definitely the most entertaining and interesting character in the series.

Gotta be honest, I was really surprised how much I ended up liking this character.

He's a caricature, but a well done one at least.

Vega was pretty cool. For the first ten hours I used him and Garrus. Partly because I hated the look of EDI, and I felt that as a squadmate I had to carry her. Liara was useful as hell, but her personality wasn't as engaging as Vega on an average mission.

He's like a human version of a "Token Krogan"

I was actually really shocked. I thought I'd hate him, but Mr. Sarah Michelle Gellar did a great job, though I didn't really buy him as Hispanic :P

The whole dialogue during the boxing scene was great...it really added some perspective to the other side of the fight against the Collector's. Very well done.

He's okay. I'd rather have him than not but but why the hell are there only 7 squad members!? This makes me pretty sad. Also, what happened to the squad member quests?

Vega is definitely cool. Many people were making unfair remarks based on his character design before the game was released, and I am pleased he's such a great bro character.

Well, they wanted to put the emphasis on deeper relationships with a smaller squad...but then they gave everyone Zaeed-level dialogue, so...not really sure :P

I love James and didn't expect to him to be as engaging as the others, if only because he is a brand new character brought into the final game. It was real fun listening to his banter with Cortez and his voice acting really helped me get past his douchey appearance. It's a shame that you cannot romance him, and I don't think there was a way to have a final conversation with him during the final battle in London. In a game full of super human characters, James brought a good dose of realism and normalcy without the stand-offish vibes that Jacob gave out.

ME1 had six squadmates, so what's the problem? As for the loyalty missions, that's not the focus of ME3. In ME2 it was all about building an army out of individuals and keeping their personal distractions to a minimum so they would be able to be able to complete the suicide mission. ME3 doesn't have time for personal agendas. It's about recruiting entire races for an all out galactic war.

I think the conversations with him as femshep are generally better as well.  The tattoo one, and getting him to stammer, was priceless.  The verbal sparring between him and Cortez is good too.

@PsychoticPenguin: I went to a military school for college, and he's definitely a well done caricature of one of the types of personalities that the military attracts.  I knew a number of guys that acted a lot like Vega...even had one as a roommate one year.

This is why you people don't throw hissy fits over a character you know nothing about it.

As a U.S. Army veteran, I have to say that Vega's persona is largely realistic. It was very interesting to see a more realistic military type in the Alliance. I knew a few people who were very similar to him.

Too bad he's now stranded on some distant garden world with the rest of my traitorous rebel crew who fled me in my final moments of need after all we'd been through together.

I was surprised i liked him so much, didn't thought iw as even gonna touch him before ME3 came out. Used him full through the game and i really liked his dialogue and insight during the missions. Him and garrus make a good squad.

Did anyone else find the infamous sparring scene a bit disturbing when playing femshep though? I mean, I know femshep's tough, but seeing a guy just punch a woman right in the face like that to the point where she's bleeding, especially when they're just roughhousing is kind of hard to watch. I think 99% of men, regardless of orientation  have something in them that will literally not let them punch a woman. Like, if they tried, everything in their body would naturally be holding them back.

They integrated squad member quests with the main quests. i.e. Tali on Rannoch, Liara on Thessia, EDI with Cerberus base.

It's possible I walked by him without seeing anything because the setting was so dark. And I thought I was being thorough. :(

The chemistry between him and FemShep was great; both the casual flirting and the mentor/student bonding.

Vega is a good guy, a good character to have around, with his own conflicts and issues and presonality.
