Actually, since I dislike speaking I really do want a text chat feature. If it were a dire emergency, I could use my mic, but I'd prefer not to. I'm just odd like that.

+1 -or at least some way of marking an enemy or calling out a target like spotting in BF. Can be hard to coordinate in a pub where hardly anyone uses a mic.

It baffles me how this game has no text chat. I cant say 'hey guys get in the extraction zone!!' or even use any premade voice commands.

When we are in multiplayer mode, is it cross platform? I always thought that it is cross platform. I actually think that a mic is a far better way to communicate. There is no way I can have the time to type during the encounter. Voice is more efficient. Also, for the console folks, it would not be fair to expect them to use a keyboard right?

Cross platform always reduce us into the lower denomination in terms of control and interaction design. My 5-cent.

I don't think it's cross-platform. There are multiple issues with that (particularly MS and Sony probably not wanting to hook their networks together), and it'd end badly if they tried.
