I'd also like lobby and in game text chat. It's a staple of PC gaming.

If text chat was ever implemented, they'd need to implement a way to "mute" (which should mute text as well as mics) specific players. 

Not really needed. While voice chat is incredibly abuseable and can be made anoying. Text chat is pretty much exempt from it. Because it's far easier to ignore.

It's seriously annoying trying to coordinate the correct line up for a team in the lobby, and trying to coordinate a team on gold or silver, with no text chat, it's just penalising us if we don't have a mic, saddens me really

Anyway is there any way we can start a petition if this feature isn't getting added?

EDIT: Seems like people are approving of this, +1 it if you want it introduced, with enough people hopefully Bioware will add it in.

+1, yes please! If I recall there was a keybinding for this IN THE DEMO that was never implemented into the final game.

Please please please! Would be so much easier than having to pop in and out of Origin all the time, and It's REALLY a pain in public lobby's

 Myself and all my friends added the origin client to steam. It lets you use steam group chat and steam screenshotting while in me3 with the steam shift tab overlay.

Not the most elegant solution but it works.

+1 from another girl gamer who doesn't want to have to deal with the 'holy **** it's a chick, lol ****** or gtfo' crowd.

 Since almost nobody uses their mic (I can see why, the voip system is sh**) text chat would be nice.
It's also kind of a standard feature in PC games, I keep pressing enter to try and chat to no avail

 On a full lobby, there's usually just one guy with mic.

I have a Mic, I prefer chat, honestly people chatting keep it short and to the point and game related.   People on mic's rambling on about what their mom cooked for dinner, no thanks.

For when you're actually on the squad screen maybe, but primarily when you're actually playing. Really needed for those fools who spend too much time killing and forget about getting on the LZ in time =_=

general startup chat, during rounds chat and a simply gg/bb at the end would improve MP by a ton.
