This is definately a huge shorfall for MP on the PC.
And at this point in time I really dont think Bioware is going to fix it though. They are too concerned about us infringing on their artisitic integrity to actually have any.

Whenever DLC comes out before a much needed patch it's really time to question their motives. I doubt they will add it but it would be a much needed addition.

+1, I couldnt read all the post but if text chat cant be made, Bioware should consider comand voice line with the charecters proper voice by shortcuts, something like Left for Dead 2 , when you press "Z"
"X" or "C" and a wheel appears to you to select the comand. They couldve use the shortcuts Q and E that we use for singleplayer to be some kind of Comand wheel. You save texting time and can be really direct and most combat situations.
