I'm seriously getting PO'd about this not being in game already. This petition was created over 4 months ago and still nothing. I swear they better implement it in the Earth DLC or I'm just gonna start spamming all their emails with a link to this petition. Big disappointment in laziness Bioware.

boggles the mind as to why it hasn't happend yet , woukld think it would have been in at launch. 
also , not everyones mic's work / can be heard, due to connection issues etc .

I support text chatting. I'd love to use a mic, but I have multiple people who have workspaces close to me, and sound annoys them. Something about disliking "get cover!" or "watch your six!" Additionally, I have to listen to music (merc musician), and that sometimes causes issues.

But anyway, I'm not asking for text chat mainly so I can alert teammates of enemies, because that's generally too slow. No, I just want to tell the team in the post-game lobby "gg guys, but I g2g now. cya!", instead of just leaving, dumping a "Host has left, please waiting during migration" message that makes them think "did he not enjoy the game?"

It would be nice to be able to discuss things between waves. Obviously it's not ideal for communicating during a wave but it would be a handy feature with no negative aspects. Lobby chat, too, would be great.

edit: also there's plenty of time to chat if you're down/dead

The funny thing is, that text chat is SO EASY to implement, it's a shame. Sorry, but text chat is the simplest and basic form of network communication - trivial.

Exactly, just like in other games.

I wish someone from Bioware would say at least something about this. I mean, since some multiplayer designer has been aware of the problem for four months now.

Text chat for PC multiplayer has been a standard for more than a decade now. What reason does BW have for leaving such a basic feature out of the game?
