Was there ever a offical answer from BW why we don´t have a textchat and why it did not come with the verey first patch?
I mean, it can´t be THAT hard to implement, right?

Where is my text chat that was supposed to be in the game from the beginning. I mean hell there was an option for it in the controls on the demo.

Text-chat is indeed very much mandatory and long over-due. While I finally arrived at decent enough sound-setting on my crippy old mic - some people complained :] - I would still greatly appreciate the implementation of it in the game for more concise communication of planning, way to communicate for people that prefer it over voice-chat etc.

There at least appears to be a desire to implement it on some of the devs' part as well, so here's hoping that it will happen eventually.

How many of you actually get people who communicate in-game over a mic anyway? With randoms it barely happens with me at all and I try to be as polite as I can with people. I do seem to get a lot of people with "RUS" and "PL" (or other things that would indicate they might not speaky no Engrish) in their gamer tags connecting to my lobby, so that would explain a lot.

That being said, who's to say a text chat will fix anything? Especially since you can connect to people who don't understand your native language to being with.

It won't happen, they don't want to create a large divide between the PC version and the Console versions. Since consoles won't be able to use text chat effectively, PC won't get it either.

I'd love it to happen, but given how much of a hard on EA has for console users, I don't see it happening.

No. I would be happy if someone from Bioware would say something, anything, about this instead of being so quiet.
