FACT:  I have played the multiplayer non stop since midnight release....I have had a nice conversation with one of the 4  members of the team twice....once somoenes mic was messing up...the rest of the time NO ONE SAYS ANYTHING.

You're exaggerating the problems with mics plain and simple. 

If you're a girl.....heres my view.  Most of the time the guys "break your balls"...just to be silly.  Tastefully of course.  If that person is being really rude and sexual then you should report him. 

But as it is now....90% of the ppl with mics don't even make a sound much less say anything.

It's a common problem, especially since irresponsible people move to VOX rather than PTT. (You can blame this on PSN or the 360 for fostering this point of view. My time on Xbox Live was nothing but dismal when dealing with the general public.) There is nothing saying YOU can't use your mic. I refuse to speak to people I don't wish to. You don't have to use text-based chatting you can simply say "Reaper behind you" (Even then, it's a bit hard to figure out who's talking since there's no ****ing UI element to indicate that...) and other players can respond as well. This isn't the Xbox 360. Microphones aren't handed out like candy, and people may not be in an environment where they can use it.

Text doesn't damage you in the slightest and it's a standard. To argue against it is basically throwing a fit for throwing a fit's sake.

One of you said you don't use your mic unless you play with friends.  So if text chat is incorporated then even fewer ppl will use the mics.  Thats my point.

You want to talk about throwing fits for no reason yet you are doing exactly that.  First I want to say I'm talking about the PC...not xbox or PS3 when I say 99% of the ppl I have played with either don't talk at all with their mics or act responsibly.

As I said before, it's pompous to go into this beforehand and think everyone is just a little idiot child and will be annoying.....plain and simple.

You don't think that PC players have never been on Xbox Live, Playstation Network, or hell even open VOIP in games like APB? PC players are bad in the same way console players when it comes to ettiquette online. YOU may not have had problems, I certainly have in ME3 and in other games. People are asking "Put chat text back in", you are saying "No, everyone must use the microphone".. You're not making any valid arguments outside of "I've not had problems, so you aren't either" when that's just a fallacy.

I asked one of our multiplayer designers about the lack of text chat. He's aware of the problem. I can't promise any fix because I can't speak for him and what he's able to do, but I just wanted to let you all know we're aware of the concern.

If your playing on a Console, this doesn't effect you, so stop arguing.

If your playing on a PC, you are free to keep using your mic, so again, stop arguing.

Either way, this doesn't effect you, so just calm the heck down.

Very strange that text chat was omitted, especially considering there was a key binding for it in the demo. Can't see it being any more of a technical limitation than it would be in any other unreal based games.

Hope they add it.

I'm not trying to argue or make life difficult for anyone....so (not that it matters) I change my stance.  Eventhough I strongly believe if it is implemented NO ONE will use the voice chat, if so many ppl want it then so be it.

But you did say that what I said about there being almost no one being annoying a "fallacy".  So you're saying what said was false....which is the same as saying I'm lying.
