Huge lag / delay due to Origin

Origin -> Settings -> In game -> Enable Origin in Game.
I am having serious problems playing with "Enable Origin in Game" option turned on.
There is a severe frame drop rate AND mouse has a bit of a lag - game keeps on looking around for several seconds even after I stop moving the mouse.
Turning "Enable Origin in Game" off makes game run smooth but now I can't invite my friends. Is there any tips / action I could take to fix this?
And this is not definitely not hardware problem because I get really great performance without Origin.

I'm having totally game ruining choppiness, and lowering graphics settings even to the lowest available doesn't help at all. I'm thinking this might have something to do with Origin.

Apparently Comodo Defence+ really doesn't like Origin in game, even though it's added to trusted applications (Both ME3 and Origin).
EDIT:
That's strange The "gear icon" is a drop-down menu with 'Settings' option in it.Swordfishtrombone wrote...
Wait... hod do you disable
"Enable Origin in Game"? When I open Origin, the icon which I ASSUME
means "settings" (The gear icon next to the help button) doesn't do
anything.

Wow - I'm using Comodo too - you might just solved the problem for me; have to try it out. Gotta leave it till tomorrow though, got to go to work (10 hour night shift.
And yeah, it is strange that clicking the gear icon does nothing for me. I was expecting a drop down, but get nothing,

Can't disable Origin in game (even using the settings - tick box is greyed out).

There is something called Defence+ make sure you disable that (requires reboot) rest can be enabled I think.

Yes, you can (should) leave firewall on. Right click on COMODO firewall icon on system tray and set 'Defence + Security Level' on Disabled. It helped me, hope it solves this problem for some people.Herethos wrote...

It doesn't need reboot though. Disabling/enabling Defence+ gives immediate results.

Disabling Defence + got rid of the lag - everything else is still running.Herethos wrote...

I've played crysis 2 mp, cod 4, cod mw2, and many other fps mp but never had problem with defense+ up and running.
Seriously bioware is trying to pass on their responsiblility to paid customers?
Just wow bioware fix your game already.

I am using comodo too but who will protect the pc security while playing ME3 mp, what if some rogue exe file illegally tries to maipulate system file and who will prevent that without defense +?
Very unlikely - after all, you still have the firewall and normal virus protection up, and you are not downloading any new material or programs from the web. The only way I can see turning off defense+ during playing could be harmful was if your machine was already infested with some virus, and that virus, for some reason, had neither been detected by the virus check, nor been actively trying to do anything prior to the moment when you switched off defence+ and started playing.
I can't say it's impossible, but neither is being hit by a meteorite, and we don't lose much sleep over that possibility.
The game does have bugs that need fixing, but it's hardly fair to criticize any game for not anticipating possible conflicts with every single piece of other software that might be running on the system it's been installed on.
Sure, if bioware can fix this, it'd be nice - but it's hardly a critical problem, and I would put pretty much every gameplay bug ahead of this in priority for a patch.

Thanks for any info you can give me.

I wasn't aware that you could change those settings out of game, so thank you for the hint. I found it, and it's not gray in the ordinary Origins settings tab. However, I can't launch my game when I've unticked the checkbox (because I run the game with the From Ashes DLC), and, alas, I am back on square one. Is there no way to get around this?
