I was wandering around in the Refugee Docks when I passed close to a Batarian talking to a human woman.
He used the phrase "cute redhead" and since Batarians have no hair, I stopped to listen to what he saying.
Then he tells his companion that during the Cerberus assault, Kelly Chambers was executed by Cerberus.
How did this happen?
From what I heard, there was supposed to be an email from Kelly asking what to do about Cerberus hunting her down!
If you contact her, you can avert this tradegy.
But I never saw it.
And then there was Thane.
According to the info, he's supposed to be there somewhere.
After the Cerberus assault, Garrus is standing near the memorial wall.
I stopped by to find out what he was doing and apparently, he was putting new names on the wall.
He added Thane Krios as one of them.
But I never met Thane!
I'm starting to see a pattern here.
I already knew Mordin bit the dust sacrificing himself to cure the Genophage.
And although I haven't got that far, I read something about Miranda not surviving either.
I'm hoping to change that scenario.
To me, it seems as if BioWare is taking certain decisions away from you.
If you want to save one of your former Squadmates and keep them alive, you should be able to do so!
This is always the kindof thing I hated in any form of entertainment media when they get to the end of a trilogy.
The writers basically say "okay, it's over, we don't need to think about the future, so lets kill as many people as we can just because we can!".
From my point of view, the story does continue after ME3, even if we don't get to experience it.
Basically, I was imagining Shepherd having a victory party on the Citadel with all the former and current crew to celebrate the defeat of the Reapers.
But it looks like the guest list is getting thinned out day by day.
The more I play the game, the less happy I am with all my friends getting dead!

Did you import a game? Did those characters survive to ME3? If yes and yes your game save might have not imported properly, check the mass effect wiki for info when and where you meet the characters.

I was over at the Wiki it says that you have to have had dinner with Kelly for her to show up apparantly, she was ordered to spy on Shepard by the Illusive Man so maybe getting to know Shepard better is what is needed.

Yes, I did import a game.
Had to erase a lot of my progress to do so though.
I didn't realize about Kelly and Thane until after I did the Geth Dreadnaught.
So I had to go back to an earlier stage and restart my work.
I think I can save Kelly, but Thane, it looks like he's doomed no matter what.

I lost Thane.
I did manage to save Kelly though.
Unfortunately, there's a new name on the Wall of Rembrance.
Legion.
He chose to sacrifice his life giving the Geth true independence from each other.
This scenario was responsible for the Geth and the Quarians becoming allies.
But for me, the price was too high.
My rule is, none of my favorites are allowed to die.
This list is getting shorter the longer I play the game.
There's only two ME2 people left on it:
Miranda.
Grunt.
I haven't gotten to that point yet, but Miranda is at risk. I'm hoping to save her though.
But the scenarios with Mordin and Thane haven't left me that optomistic for her chances.
I didn't want them to die either.
I don't know about Grunt, but I hope he survives as well.
And feel free to spoiler both those scenarios if you like, I want to either prepare for their inevitable demise or learn a way to prevent it.
