I don't think another ammo power is necessary since so many teammates can be spec'd for squad ammo now early (and incendiary is still damn good) . But the other choices all seem good. I went with Marksman so I can feel closer to a ME1 vanguard (which I guess barrier can do as well). I feel like I get the best of both ME1/ME2 this way (Pistol high DPS/ROF and Shotgun+Charge)

I went for Carnage for old time sake (ME1 nostalgia, where I played a shotgun Vanguard that abused Carnage as much as possible).

Carnage is a solid bonus power for the Vanguard, because it helps you to strip down enemies's armor. The Vanguards lack of options to strip down enemies's armor is the Vanguards only weakness, so Carnage is a good choice as a bonus power for the Vanguard.

Stasis is also a good choice. Go for the Bubble Stasis. When you have Bubble Stasis you can lock enemies in place and then Charge right into them to create a biotic explosion! :o

HERDERP! Vanguard already has Incendiary Ammo as one of his basic powers.

Reave fills a lot of holes in your game. Spammable long range armor damage, lets you set up biotic explosions solo if your squadmates are down, gives you some nice damage protection. Doesn't have a long cooldown either.

This is true, but I think Carnage is a better options when it comes to stripping armor. But of course Carnage doesn't allow you to set up biotic explosions.

@aim1essgun.

I don't have kaiden alive, so i'm wondering does Reave have that annoying sound loop like it does in multiplaye?. Cause I couldn't play through an entire campaign hearing that.

Just how much armor damage/armor weakening does Fire and Freeze ammo do?

Not all that much, but the staggering effect of both are pretty nice, which makes both ammo powers worthwhile (especially Incendiary Ammo, which has a high chance of staggering your target and the enemies near your target).

Yes, flailing burning enemies are fun.

I recall charging at a foe and having them explode in a fiery goresplosion... Does that only happen if a target is Incinerated or does it work on mooks you shot with flame ammo too?

Or I did something combo-ish that caused a fiery goresplosion...

Warpsplosions on foes that are Pulled are fun too.  It's like Nova... 'cept without the shield loss. :D

(It's still technically a warpsplosion... two mass effect fields interacted and caused significant amounts of mass efffect shear... which is what Warp does B) )

I know that I was asking since I don't have kaiden, if reave did the annoying sound loop thats in multi, (since I don't have him and can't test myself) in single player.

Does the area effect of Rank 6 stagger sheilded enemies, I haven't picked it?

I am going to use Carnage when its available. Its fun and gives me a long range attack that can damage armor. I would use Stasis but I always roll with Liara, at the moment I am using Slam with Javik and Liara. This allows so many options for Biotic Detonations. I wish I could use Reave or Overload but since I can't I will probably end with Carnage.

I tried out stasis and thought it was okay, but I bring Liara along with me on most missions and with her crazy power recharge reduction she can use it and then work with my vanguard on a pull/warp combo in quick succession. Switched to carnage, love it. Is reave Kaidan's first or second bonus power? None of my 3 characters from ME1 through to 3 have Kaidan alive. I was thinking of making a new one from scratch and having him alive so I could get it for my sentinel run.

Vanguard is the one class that I never choose a Bonus Power( I choose one then take the point out) CQC and long range combat is taken care with Biotic Charge, crowd control is not a problem with squad cryo ammo. If you ignite an enemy then detonate it with biotics set other enemies on fire. Have most things covered.

But I do think Decoy will be a good choice.  Might try it out after my Sentinel then Adept runs.

That's a bug. Stasis should work on armored enemies. Even enemies with shields or barriers can be put in stasis. I'm pretty sure of this because I always use Bubble Stasis on those nasty Phantoms.

Get Reave. It closes the last bit of the gap and turns the class into even more of a Juggernaut.

I'm not sure if I'll be able to finish upgrading Reave by level 60, but I'll gladly respec and sacrafice a lift-shockwave for it. It's that powerful.

Not a bug, Stasis was created with Multiplayer in mind. Any Enemies with Armor are immune.

Not sure. It does work on armored units though (except for Phantoms, who do seem to burn, but aren't staggered by it).

I agree with Decoy as a bonus power for Vanguard because it can be used to set up a situation without messing with recharge. When can I get Decoy as a bonus power?

I believe that was EDI's second bonus power.
