Oh you haven't finished the game?
Yeah... I'd honestly just stop right there.
Thank you, Bioware, for our Scientist Salarian.

Lovely post, Silvercharmer.
Even I did not react as emotionally, I was very shaken from that scene as well.
Mordin was indeed a greatly written character, and the amount of smiles and laughs but also hard thoughts in ME2 and ME3 was indeed more than that of every other Character.
When he gave his life for the galaxy I first thought "Noooooo" but soon after that, I realized, that was the best exit he could make. He died saving a whole species while singing. In Salarian terms he was very old, and this finally set his deeds in the stone of history - even with the former enemies of his race. He is THE big hero in ME3 at this point and it will be hard to top his heroism for any other character in the remainder of the game.
Thank you bioware. Thank you Mordin!

Agreed, OP. I havent had a good cry like that in years. Mordin got a jack on the rocks from me. To go out smiling and singing. . . Frig, the ending be damned, I cant say any game has ever had me this emotionally attached to fictional characters. Cheers to you Bioware, cheers to you.
~But thats just my opinion, no need to go spreading it around.

Heh, I had tears just now reading your post. Mordin's death was so emotional, especially when he started singing just as the tower exploded. I cried like a baby! He was one of my favourite characters in the series and I thought his end was PERECT. He was able to come full circle from helping create the genophage to feeling guilt and regret to finally fixing what he came to feel was his biggest mistake in life. In doing so, he became a legendary hero to the Krogan and even having Wrex name one of his babys after him  I finished the game on Thursday night and still even now, I cannot think of things that happened throughout the game without getting teary

Hear hear Silvercharmer. The fairwell to Mordin was perfectly done, my mouth was literally hanging open for minutes afterwords. Breathtaking. Hats off to Bioware.

I wouldn't go that far. He does insist that he made the right choice then but now that the situation has changed so must his actions. He was able to come full circle from helping create the genophage to feeling guilt and regret to finally fixing what he came to feel was his biggest mistake in life.

That was a wonderful scene, and I have to give Mordin's VA credit. I miss Michael Beattie terribly, but his replacement did a good job with what must have been a difficult role.
I will gather seashells in your honor, Mordin.

All the stuff with not having Maelon's data and siding with the Salarians was really good. Did not care for the new VA however.

Hear hear. I couldn't agree more.
I don't think I have cried that much for any kind of fictional character.
My parner was on his computer next to me, several missions behind, and I just had to pause his game, hug him and cry, every once in a while muttering, "I'm sorry, SPOILERS"
