Hey look, more random statistics! And on this other forum I visit there's 12k people for the ending and only hundreds against. See what I did there?
BTW - I'm not clammoring (funny word) to anything, I just beat the game and was actually surprised to find this reaction on the forums. I just don't like it when people start acting like they speak for everyone, when in this case, they definitely do not.
To be honest, this seems a lot like what happened after the Lost finale. People raged, cried, whined, then realized oh.... it's just entertainment and moved on.
Here is my source. 15 K votes plus in favor of a change. Now... gief your source. See what I did there?
I dont think anyone here presumes to speak for "everyone" as it were. But I think its pretty obvious that those that have voted have voted in favor of change. A poll with 16k respondees isnt too shabby. Its more than what is usually used to poll politics in my nation of five million.
As for lost, I never really watched past season one. It felt like masturbating with a cheesegrinder. And its only "entertainment" if it "entertains". If it enrages and effectively distances its audience from itself, its not really entertainment anymore.

Beyond how much money they're making off Call of Duty drones, I doubt the writers care.
In their arrogant mind, any criticism is just hating, they believe they're perfect
idk . . . its pretty obvious they don't care, b/c if they did . . . they would've made the ending, you know . . . . good
its pretty obvious they got lazy (or most likely stopped caring) and couldn't figure out how to end Shepard's story so they decided, screw multiple endings, lets have one ending with a retarded circular logic reason to the Reapers, obvious signs of lazy writing, and lazy writing means i just don't care about my story, i just want it finished and reap my money

Well... 25% decrese in projected sales will effectively cut the profit margin to a point where continuation of the product line might very well go into a bag.
If I came here looking for info on ME3 now, Id be "somewhat" cautious. Most threads on all ME3 related forums are basically "This is an outrage" threads. That is not the kind of advertizing Bio / EA needs.

Fans: You're with EA now. You've betrayed the RPGers, you've betrayed everything we stood for. You've betrayed *me*!
Writers: *Frustrated rage*
Cut the writers some slack. They DO care! They put their hearts and souls into this game and it shows for the first 97% of gameply, which is incredible. They made a mistake with the last 3% of the game -- UNINTENTIONALLY. Raging at them and accusing them of caring only about a paycheck is only likely to alienate them and make them wish they hadn't cared so much. And don't tell me you wish *you* hadn't cared so much -- that's not helpful.
BIOWARE, I LOVED THIS GAME SO MUCH UNTIL THE ENDING DEVASTATED ME. Please make it right. Don't let one mistake undo all of the fantastic work that went into the rest of the game.

I'm not sure how many units need to be sold to breakeven, but I'm sure they won't sell as many as they would have if the endings didn't suck so bad. Word of mouth is spreading. How many people have you warned about the game?
I still wonder if it was the writer(s) fault or some exec's fault.
I honestly think the writers are aware of the problem and feel bad about it. It would be stupid of them to be laughing about the money everyone seems to think they have in the bank.

They probably look at the thread list on this board and feel like we felt when the Catalyst explained our choices.
1) Swallow your pride and admit your work sucked and ask your corporate overlords for money to fix it [RED ENDING]
2) Stick to your guns and lose many of the fans who've supported your work thus far, and face your corporate overlords when your next project fails to achieve sales targets[BLUE ENDING]
3) Go to your corporate overlord and blame your co-worker who convinced you the ending was good [GREEN ENDING]

Cuz they will get their money from the true ending DLC. As well as all plotholes coverage DLC that they will undoubtedly release.

1) BioWare told us to hold onto our Mass Effect 3 saves. (Why would they do this?)
2) At the end of the game it gives a message that says "Continue your journey with DLC".
Yes, they knew the endings sucked and they also knew that all the fans would flip the eff out and demand better endings.

Where's this about holding on to saves? I've seen something about holding on to your copy of ME3 but not about saves.XxTaLoNxX wrote...

"Continue your journey with DLC" could mean simply replaying it with DLC once the DLC is released.

At that point, there's no point this being a game franchise and not, say, a TV series.

Yeah "Continue your journey with DLC" doesn't mean anything ME2 didn't already do. Now it's just written explicitly because ME2 proved some halfway decent sales can be made on it.

They going to be paid regardless, so that will make them happy.
But at the same time they're still humans, and having a creation of yours lambasted to the degree the ending has been, they're not just brushing it off like it doesn't matter to them at all.

Call me naive, but I think the dev team including the writers care very much about such a massive outpouring of disappointment from the fans. I mean, wouldn't you? You spend years working day (and many nights) to make a game as close to perfect as you can, and let's be honest, bar the endings, the game is amazing.
And the effort, time and love you poured into it is just annihilited by the endings. Sound familiar? They're on the same boat we are on.
That is what I feel.

You're all scumbags, next time you make something I'll want to hear what you think if 100k people walks by and litterally ****s on your thing.
Edit: I am not talking about those who actually have legitimate complaints and post constructively, but the majority on this forum seem to never have worked for a minute of their petty lives. Once you spend 3 years on a project you pour some part of yourself into it, you live with that project in your head probably all the time and and it must be a labour of love elsewise you will just quit eventually.
