I just wanted to start a new DA:O run, installed the game and Awakening, patched it up to 1.05. When I start the game and try to log into my account it just shortly displays the login graphic (the rotating thing) then goes back to the login screen. If I enter a wrong password on purpose I get an error prompt, but with the correct password it's not logging me in, which is quite unfortunate as I can't access my DLC. 

Is this related to the DA:O player profile currently being unavailable or should I be able to log into the game? Any suggestions on what I could do?

Edit: Interestingly enough the game unlocked a number of achievements on my account which I hadn't uploaded yet despite not logging in correctly...

There is almost no one coming here any more. Official game support has always been at EA Help. When there were people here, this was a gamer to gamer self-help tech discussion forum. The game is 2 1/2 years old, and has run its course now.  Anything that could go wrong did so a long time ago, and was written about.  The stickies have answers for 95% of all of it, and the Archives cover the rest. 

The important thing to notice is that the answers still exist, whether the authors are still around, or not.

For noone being here there were quite a lot of postings the last week or so. Although one constant seems to be you, complaining that people still use this message board.

And at the moment another gamer that currently plays the game or even just has it installed, even though it's *ghasp* 2,5 years old, could quite easily help me by starting up his DA:O, trying to log in inside the game and reporting here if it works or not. That would at least give some information if the problem is on my end or not.

Has the same login worked previously? Did you then change the password? It has been reported that strange non-event logins can occur if your login details contain "special characters".

Hats off to you mister I had changed my password since I last played Dragon Age and it now contained a special character. After removing it logging in works fine.

Interestingly enough Xbox Live had the same issue. Thank you for the tip.

Really? I have to change my login details across all of EA's length and breadth because I have symbols in my password?

Not really, unless you use lots if different IDs / email accounts.
