I'm as pissed about the ending as anyone.  Let's take a second and consider some tertiary points.

Point 1
Lead Bioware people have hinted (I don't have the source it was years ago) that the ME universe lent itself well to the MMO idea (the quote being something along the lines of "you saved this universe you should get to live in it').

Point 2
It is unlikely that EA and Bioware are done making Mass Effect games.  The creation of a new IP requires significant investment and frequently is unsuccessful.  It would be a ****** poor business strategy to write off a successful IP.  The way ME is structured there is only room for one prequel (the First Contact War).

Point 3
The current endings leave no real expansion possibilities for the ME universe.  I seriously doubt EA (and their love for money) is going to shut the door on so much potential revenue.  Unless they plan on making a ME MMO where you chase dinosaurs on a distant planet I don't see these current endings sticking.

i really don't want an ME MMO. ME is all about personal relationships and decisions.

MMOs completely lack that

I'm not specifically talking about just a future MMO my point is that they can't make so much as an Iphone game with the current endings.

THEY ARE DEFINITELY NOT MAKING A MASS EFFECT MMO.

THEY'VE PUT HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS INTO THE OLD REPUBLIC.

MAKING A COMPETING MMO FOR THAT WOULD BE STUPID.

WILL PEOPLE STOP SUGGESTING A MASS EFFECT MMO. IT IS NEVER EVER GOING TO HAPPEN.

turning this into an MMO would be the worst thing I can think of happening.. the much hyped old republic is supposed to be story driven, I played my way to level 50 on that game.. and the story was complete garbage compared to what was on offer in Kotor.. you just can't have those kind of stories told in an mmo game

Don't do it to mass effect.

If they make an MMO out of ME i'm going to rage especially after that fiasco that SWTOR is.

OP makes a valid point. The Cash Cow will die at the moment if it doesn't get some internetvenous DLC that fixes the ending for future game calfs.

Shepard sacrficed himself and drove off the Reapers. the Mass relays were destroyed but the united races rebuilt them using Reaper tech. It took maybe a month to build the one near earth. Then, they went about rebuilding the entire universe, including the citadel. Because of so much death, overpopulation isn't as much of a problem.

There, everything's normal again.
