 Hey guys :P

Gonna need some help with this fight. Smart as I were I thought you could finnish Palaven moon to get the patriarch straight off the bat. Big mistake.

At the final camp you first kill of a bunch and THANK GOD there is a checkpoint after that. But after this you are told to head into the camp itself.

There are 2 marauders heading towards you. These effectively are TIMED to kill because if the brutes get to you while they are still alive its game over. Im playing adept and have invested 4 into warp, 1 in singularity and 1 in shockwave. Unfortunately the marauders are shielded. It takes a perfect headshot to  remove the shield for singularity+warp combo. Meaning if I miss one shot its game reload simply because I wont get down the first brute in time.

Now... with an INSANE amount of luck + I may be able to kill the 2 marauders and the first brute by the time the 2 next brutes arrive. The problem here is that there is NO TIME even with perfect shots on weak spots - to kill them before a wave of 4 ranged dudes comes running aswell.

So here is the situation IF IM LUCKY to get such a "Good start" as having 2 dead maras and 1 dead brutes down by the time the 2 last brutes and the 4 other ranged comes...

1: The brutes one shot my companions even if I try to micro them.
2: The brutes makes cover unusable as you need maneuvrability to evade them.
3: The ranged will one shot you out of cover.

Ive reloaded maybe 30 times and see no other way out, any advice? My spells does no damage on the brutes, so me and my companions use maybe 2 minutes to kill one brute.

Edit: Playing on Insanity ofcourse :P And Im not lowering it.

You aren't going to like the final battle in the game! Brutes, Marauders and Banshees everywhere!

You'll probably get a better response posting this in the Gameplay, Strategy & Builds Discussion forum...

Yeah, no kidding. Palaven is where the difficulty curve starts to kick in. Thessia was nothing short of hellish and I'm playing on veteran.

Pretty sure he/she is going for the Insanity Achievement/trophy. You can't turn down the difficulty.

Unfortunately I have no advice to offer you. I played the whole game on Narrative.

brutes have parts with armor plating where they don't suffer damage. shoot them in the ass.

Practice with ordering your squadmate to pick off targets.

Sniper Rifle --> Cloak --> Headshot --> Incinerate before cloak wears off --> Sniper Rifle --> Headshot

That's one brute down.
Note that I used the Black Widow V sniper rifle, with barrel and concentration thingy. On normal.

Avoid the parts that go "clank clank" when you hit them.

Back, head and front body are unarmored, I think. Brutes use claws to protect themselves. Charging Brute is fully exposed, but it's a suicide to try and hit him during his charge.

They were my favorite part of the last mission, combat wise! Especially the group of Brutes, and the group of Banshees. Oh man, that had my adrenaline pumping.

@Astro: The problem is that early game you have so little skills! If my predictions are right the hardest part of insanity difficulty is actually the first 3-4 missions. As when your powers scale they will normalize.

Insanity isnt hard now because of the mobs (Well that too ofc!) but mostly because you sit on 1-2 abilities with a tiny investment this early. Later on even if the encounters are harder, you will have so many more OPTIONS on how to deal with them.

Dude, I'm just playing Insanity now and I'm doing NG+. I feel it's probably much easier that way as you keep all your weapons and upgrades. Plus get to choose a bonus power and have all your stats still.

It's a lot easier than being a new character if you ask me. Of course I only just left Mars and barely had a problem. But then again, Mars isnt too tough.

Seriously dude, if you can't beat Palavan then you have zero hope in beating London.

@Idun: Found it and it saved me ;)

@Iron: I had no problem on insanity either before the palavan moons last stage. Then it went from "easy" to "impossible" but I made it, good luck there!

Mdoggy: I beat it finally after maybe 40 tries, and I will complete the rest of the game aswell. Even if the stress and frustration ages me by 10 years :D
