The Illusive Man is exactly like Saren. He insists he's not being controlled, eventually realizes he's wrong, and in my game it ended with him shooting himself in the head. Again, exactly like Saren. I was actually concerned I was going to have to fight a husk version of him just like Saren. It just seems... very lazy. I thought the Illusive Man would have a more interesting role in all of this instead of just Saren 2.0.
Now that's how my game ended, so I don't know if there's more intersting options surrounding the Illusive Man. Mainly I'm upset that I didn't get to kick him out that window into that star he's always so fondly admiring.
So I guess my question is then, before coming into this game, what did you think the role of the Illusive Man would be in the finale?
I had thought that he would be in a more defensive role, using the galactic war all around him to grow his forces, and use his seized Collector and Reaper tech to make some sort of place for humanity, and humanity alone to survive the Reapers. I mean the guy was all about putting humanity first. He turned around real quick in this game, and lost a lot of supporters. I didn't see that one coming honestly. I also wished we would've found out more about him, like maybe his real name or how he became the Illusive Man. But, eh. Those are just my thoughts.
