Which battle/fight was the hardest for you in this game?

For me, it was actually NOT the final battle before reaching the Citadel Beam. My top 3 hardest fights were, in no particular order:

1)  Final battle at Grissom Academy. I think the reason was I did it early enough in the game that I was still getting used to the new enemy AI and stuff, and felt unprepared for the amount and diversity of enemies.

2) Final battle in the Ardat-Yakshi monastery. Seriously, 2 banshees, and a bunch of other lesser enemies? That was just too much, especially considering I had just met the banshees for the first time and had not yet gotten used to how to deal with them. (My vanguard had brough Liara and Kaidan to that fight.)

3) Reaching the Thresher Hammers on Tuchanka. First, it took me too long to figure out the fight was unwinnable and I just had to book it past the enemies to the hammers. I kept trying to take on the army of brutes, and kept dying. And even when I figured out I just had to run, I still died a lot either from being squished by the reaper or accidentally running straight into a brute because my vision was blinded by all the dust/explosions. Gah!

my first try i got killed by the reaper weapon, so i was sweatin and stressin all the way up to that button press =p.

The gameplay part of this game was amazing, to bad the ending was just full of fail

I had trouble with the Turian sqaud on Tuchanka, I found reaching the hammers fairly easy, no matter what difficulty you play on you can ignore the brutes and just press the buttons, it was especially easy doing it as an infiltrator

Wow! Two banshees? I got like 5 during the protect the rockets, and they also other mobs with them, those shieleded Turians and Brutes. I also had to dodge a reaper beam. Was it bugged for me? Every time I killed one another appeared.

I agree with the Trasher hammer, that was also pretty hard

Kai Leng. Man this guy was insane on insanity. 15 times reloading. I couldn't hear his scream at start anymore.

The Reaper on Rannoch. I had difficulty predicting how close I was to the beam.
The final fight with the Banshees because of the Reaper beam. Than I realized I could hide in the buildings. Once the missiles were ready, I just cloaked and sprinted away.

@ Trishot, yeah, in the final fight I also got multiple banshees, but by that point of the game they were no longer quite as terrifying as I had developed efficient strategies for destroying them quickly. With the monastery it was hard because they still felt new and I was unprepared with how to deal with them.

Playing it on Insanity now... and I am highly dreading the LAST fight where there are Banshees, Brutes AND a Reaper firing on you in certain spots...

The two banshees in the monastery were a nightmare. Died so many times there. Forget about Brutes, Banshees are far worse. The way they take SO much damage to put down, use charge to get close to you and have that nasty insta-kill attack when they do get close. Which they love doing.

The missile thing on earth was also hell. So many enemies... Including banshees!

I agree about the Thresher Maw hammers, I was panicking as to why Brutes kept spawning before I figured out I had to RUN to the Hammers and trigger them, silly me.

The final fight was tough as well just because of the lay out of the map, it made it hard to maneuver around the Banshees and the Brutes and getting pinned between the two never ended well.

The one that gave me the most trouble was toward the end, where you need to launch a missile strike on the Reaper on Earth. All the ****ing Banshees and Marauders around were giving me a hard ****ing time for some reason.

@Cosmar I see, I saw it's Barrier and Armour and figured out my strategy instantly, because ME2 had the same two bars. I didn't think about it that way :)

I'd say any fight with ****ing Banshees counts.  Those things are the worst enemies in the trilogy.

I have to say, kudos to BW on not pulling any punches with the enemies. Banshees and Ravagers in particular. Holy hell. And people complained about scions and praetorians in ME2? Pfft. Fodder for the banshees. Very well designed enemies I think. Terrifying in all the right (or wrong?) ways, and incredibly powerful.

I mean, successive biotic charges in a row, a insta-death melee attack, extremely strong barriers and armor, AND an explosive shield-breaking attack, AND a massive ball of seeking destructive energy? Damn. They made scions look like regular husks.

And ravagers! I have to admit later in the game they weren't quite as scary, but early on, man! I was so afraid of shooting their sacs open that I took forever to kill them because I aimed so carefully at their heads, meanwhile they blasted my squaddies to dust with their missiles. Eventually I figured out the Swarmers weren't that big a deal, so I pulled no punches taking the Ravagers down...once I started doing it that way, they went down fairly quickly.

I'd go with the multiple banshees and marauders when launching the final two missiles. This was mainly because I thought I had to kill them all, though. Finally realized I could just hit the button after some time.

Kai Leng wasn't too bad for me, just popped adrenaline rush and laid down a wall of bullets with the Revenant. The phantoms are easily taken care of with Liara's stasis.

All in all though insanity was a welcome challenge in ME3 compared to how easy it was in ME2.

1. I thought the final Grissom battle was long, but not particularly tough. Then again, I was using an Atlas for the whole thing, so I dunno.
2. You REALIZE there were, like, 4-5 Banshees, 3-4 Brutes, AND a lot of lesser enemies in that final missle battle, right?
3. That WAS a tough one. Tough for me b/c I could never turn the angles to get to the hammers with any kind of speed at all and I was wither surrounded by Brutes or the Reaper stepped on me.

I'd say hands down the missle battle was the hardest. Woulda been a LITTLE easier if I had more medigel, but I'll deal with that later. It honeslty came down to both of my squadmates being down, about 7-10 more cannibals and mauraders, and me saying, "screw it," and running around the perimeter and activating the missles before they saw me.

A potential tough one was after you took out the Reaper with the Cain and the Banshee and Cannibals showed up.
I kept dying b/c I was trying to focus on the Banshee. Then, I realized, "dude, use the other Cain on the Banshee." Problem pretty much solved.

As embarrassing as it is, my toughest was targeting the Reaper on Rannoch. I figured I had to do it all at once or the targeting would reset and no matter how soon I targeted the Reaper laser would hit me before I got a shot off.

Took me like, 8-9 times to finally get it. Image IPB

This. Amount of Banshees (3) and Brutes (5 I think) are ridicilous. Especially on insanity.

That stupid reaper/ai/god-child at the end. Little bastard wouldn't die no matter how many time i shot him in the head with my pistol. Eventually bled out and got a game over.

Compared to that the part where you have to laser the reaper with no cover was a cakewalk, only had to replay that part once.

Honestly any of the fights involving Banshees are just horrid on Insanity. Definatly the last fight at the missle trucks was the toughest. Though that fight was also amusing because you could get the Reaper beam to destroy the Banshees/Brutes for you. :D

The part on Earth with the multiple Banshees. My squad kept dying and I'm pretty sure I ran out of medigel. Thank god I had tactical cloak because I would have probably died rushing to the missiles. :|

Any fight that involves those freakin' Banshees...
