On Benning, during the first encounter with Cerberus forces, they have a turret. I can't deal any damage to it, and it doesn't do anything to me. But my companions keep firing at it, and since it registers as a live enemy, the mission doesn't proceed. I've re-started the mission, but the same scenario keeps happening.
Any help?

Have you tried waiting? Turrets despawn a certain amount of time after their creating Engineers die.

Solved it, though. Strangely enough, after restarting for the second time, the turret worked correctly.

Same problem...the turret doesn't shoot at me, but it can't be killed. I can get the shields all the way down and then it has no health indicator. I blasted it with biotic combos for a while then left and got some food while my squad shot at it. I want to know where Cerberus gets their turrets from.

Same thing happened. Restarting solved it and fortunately the turret is placed early on in the mission. Still annoying with all the other bugs we're already putting up with.

I had this problem and simply restarting didn't solve it. I actually had to go do another mission elsewhere and come back to this. When I did the turret was placed in another position and was destroyable.

Is this the first turret you encounter? I find that you cannot damage the turret until all the civilians are dead first. Once the civilians are dead, you can damage and kill the turret.
