I think it's fair to say that hope was a major theme throught ME. Hope for the future, hope for beating the reapers, hope for survival of your friends and companions.
Why then does the ending seem to suck all hope out of the game?
The weird thing is that the ending clearly TRIES to inspire hope. The image of Joker and your squad standing on a lost Eden-like world is supposed to kinde of feeling of hope for the future. At least I think that's what it is supposed to do.
But it doesn't. It fails, and with it my hope for a satisfying conclusion to my shepard's story.
I'm not saying that Shepard needed to survive (he didn't). I'm not saying that the geth or EDI needed to live. I just think that at the end of a game like ME, I should have felt uplifted. Triumphant. Victorious. But I didn't. So here's hoping for a little help from bioware.
