I honestly am curious. If they come out in the coming weeks and admit that yes, they made a mistake, they will do what they can to make it up to the fans. Will you be able to set your frustration aside and refrain from torches?

Personally it would restore some faith i have, and would set aside judgement till i finished the new product. What about everyone else?

If they fix it, this series will be my favorite series of anything again, no problem. I need a proper conclusion like nobody's business.

almost everyone agrees the game was great up until the endings.   If they did something that showed the decisions we made from ME1 up until that point made a difference in the universe sure.  It's hard to invest all that time and not be able to see an outcome that isn't depressing.

Yes. It would restore my confidence in them and place them high up on my respect list for admitting they made a mistake and willing to fix it.

I do want Bioware to sit down and let us know that they're aware the endings don't make sense and are trying to fix it.

Even if they don't fix it, I want an explanation as to why they ever thought this was a good way to finish out Shepard's trilogy.

If they admit they made a mistake, AND take steps to correct it, I'll trust them. If I like their corrections, I'll be a fanboy again.

ME, ME2, and ME3 up through Kai Leng's death. Those are my favorite games of all time.

I would most certainly give them their chance.
I don't hate the game by any means. For me it's utterly fantastic. UNTIL the end. I don't hate Bioware even a little, I'm just...disappointed.
I think most everyone here just wants the same thing. Some better endings that WE feel we earned, not pre-chosen ones handed to us no matter what we do.
I hold hope for that outcome. Look how it went for Bethesda and Fallout 3.

They don't need to admit anything just release an endings DLC. Or hell, even just put it in with the next DLC pack with out making a big deal about it. If they came out and said "All the endings suck so if want real endings pay $10 more!" they would get a terrible PR response

If they fix it for free, all my rage will be gone.

If they release an ending DLC we have to pay for, I'll certainly get it and will feel better, but I still will be somewhat angry about it.

I don't trust their story-ending decision-making process at this point, so I'd wait until I had spoilers regarding exactly what their "fix" entailed before I decided whether or not I felt it was worth my time and money. I felt ME3's ending was so bad, the whole series wasn't worth my time and money (and for people who say "it's about the journey" ... no, it's not. That's a matter of perspective and opinion, and for me, an awesome journey that ends with a dagger in the back is not worth making).

I guess what's really bothering me is that I trusted BW enough to pre-order a CE sight-unseen, expecting a triumphantly epic ending (and a few truly tragic ones, like "Reapers Win") that I would find satisfying, and I didn't get that. So ... no, it won't restore faith and I won't buy any more sight-unseen from BW. Once I'm spoiled, if the fix is good, I'll get it to salvage the time and money I've already spent on the franchise ... anything else risks throwing good money after bad.

That is the biggest issue i am having, Ive purchased CE for both 2 and 3. Assuming it would live up. 2 i enjoyed, but 3 due to the ending has left me with a bad taste for the whole game. I know it was simply amazing up until the end bit but just bleh.

everyone makes mistakes and that goes for the men and women that work at bioware as well if they took steps to explain the ending and how they came to that conclusion or create a patch that gives up some different endings i think a lot of people would forgive/re-gain trust for bioware. personally I am just disappointed with the endings and i feel like a lot of people feel this way because they hold the mass effect series on such a high pedestal and grew to love these characters they we meet in the games and they just want a proper conclusion

If they admit they messed up and offer to fix it, then I wont be mad anymore.

Witcher 2 did it, and so did fallout 3. Why not for mass effect 3? It isn't like it has never been done before, and it is completely doable.

I don't hate Bioware or the game, just the ending. If they can fix it somehow, no need to say anything, just please fix it, I will actually be able to like the ME series again and I won't feel so cheated...

Listening to your fans and fixing a mistake (whether they think it is one or not) would be a very strong move to begin with. I'd respect that.

Give me what i want, i give you what you want.
You want my money ? I want a epic ending like they say it will be.
If not i will never buy a EA product. Never feel so betrayed in 20 years of gaming. Never.

They can't exactly say they can't do it. I mean they lauded Origin for being great for game updates and things. I think it would be a excellent gesture if they went in and patched the ending and admitted "Yes its a placeholder, were sorry. Look though you didn't have to go download a huge patch exe for the new endings!" They also said they were looking forward to extending the game out both SP and MP sides wonder how that will play out. Would be cool getting stuff ah la like Cerberus Network as a token gesture.

I'd forgive bioware for the atrocity committed towards the series. Heck, maybe they can allow us to have weapons greater then rank 5 on further playthroughs in SP but anyway I digress.

Look, im all for someone stepping in and being the bigger man by taking it to the chin, especially in situations like this. I would not care that they admit to giving us a bad ending due to what ever reason, all I want is for them to retcon it and give us a better one!

Why are you so unwilling to take this one on the chin bioware?

If they fix it and fix it for free since I already paid for the game, then sure. If they start pumping out DLC so I can pay extra for an ending that isn't ass then no.
As for them saying they made a mistake...that's hollow, I don't care about that. Fix it or don't.

Until this the thought of an artist changing their ending would have infuriated me. But this.....
Yeah. I actually want them to do it.

I don't have a problem with the ending completely. In fact I love the idea of Shepard dying in the end because it fits him properly. He is an action hero, I can't imagine him going and becoming some dignitary or desk jockey of a higher ranking officer. I like the sacrifice ending for sure!

My problem with the ending is that it just feels like they suddenly stopped writting after that! The flash back in the sythesis ending should be of decisions that you made through the 3 games, really recapping your amazing adventure, as opposed to just a generic one. Some sort of epilogue would be nice as well, let us see how our decisions played out, even if Shepard isn't there, those decisions will have an impact on so many! without seeing how the decisions played out (even if not setting up something new) there should be an ending for all those characters that have been with Shepard (we see what happens to the old crew from ME1 in ME2, and in ME2 to ME3) it makes no sense we wouldn't get some resolution here as well.

If they go down the Witcher 2 path or FO3 path and fix it, that would be great, and I would forgive them. I'd also be fine paying for it, because the ending ruined it so much I can't sleep, literally. I'm irritated. I hope they fix it. :(

Absolutely. If they admit the endings were bad and fix it, I'll put my torch down and go back to singing ME3's praises. Because honestly, aside from the last ten minutes of the game, this was the best game I have ever played, hands down.

Heck yes. If they promise to fix it and do, ME3 will go down in gaming history as the best, and Bioware will be remembered as a developer who kept their word and did everything for their fans.
