Hi,
I'm trying to install ME3 which I have to do via Origin, it gets to 99% and then says 'Ready to install' in an orange bar. I click on that then it says 'Installing' with a blue bar, but then after a few minutes it goes back to 'Ready to install'.
I've tried deleting all the so far installed files and doing it again but the same thing happens.
Anybody have any ideas please?
Thanks.
Origin stuck at 99% ready to install

Hi,
Try to install the 3 Packages (DirectX, PhysX and VC) manually from ...\\Mass Effect 3\\_Installer\\
Good luck!

It was a good idea, but unfortuantely it didn't work. It's time like these that I wish I had a console.

id shut down any antivirus and make sure that your firewall understands orgin and any installers have rights to the net. Mine did hang a while at 99% but it finished up.

But did you have a blue bar when it was at 99% as mine just goes to grey and comes up with 'Ready to Install'?

What's the size of your Mass Effect 3 Folder? Mine has 12.862.857.662 Bytes, 7489 Files.
Normally at 99% the DirectX, PhysX and VC package is installed.
Are you running Origin as Administartor without any User Account Control?

Hi,
I've found the solution to this problem. Apparantly Origin didn't add all the registry info it should have. I person called GaiusToral on the EA wrote a solution, I'm sure he/she won't mind if I show it here.
For 32 bit operating systems:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\BioWare\\Mass Effect 3]
"GDFBinary"="C:\\\\Program Files\\\\Origin Games\\\\Mass Effect 3\\\\GDFBinary_en_US.dll"
"Path"="C:\\\\Program Files\\\\Origin Games\\\\Mass Effect 3"
"DedicatedInternetConnection"=dword:00000001
"GameExplorer"="{550B93A1-5BFD-4037-BAA6-31CD218C10C7}"
"DisplayName"="Mass Effect™ 3"
"Locale"="en_US"
"Product GUID"="{6A9D1594-7791-48f5-9CAA-DE9BCB968320}"
"Install Dir"="C:\\\\Program Files\\\\Origin Games\\\\Mass Effect 3\\\\"
For 64 bit operating systems:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Wow6432Node\\BioWare\\Mass Effect 3]
“GDFBinary”=”C:\\\\Program Files (x86)\\\\Origin Games\\\\Mass Effect 3\\\\GDFBinary_en_US.dll”
“GameExplorer”=”{550B93A1-5BFD-4037-BAA6-31CD218C10C7}”
“DisplayName”=”Mass Effect™ 3?
“Locale”=”en_US”
“Product GUID”=”{6A9D1594-7791-48f5-9CAA-DE9BCB968320}”
“Install Dir”=”C:\\\\Program Files (x86)\\\\Origin Games\\\\Mass Effect 3\\\\”
“Path”=”C:\\\\Program Files (x86)\\\\Origin Games\\\\Mass Effect 3?
I entered in the information (though I had to change the location of the file as my install files are in the EA folder rather than the Origin Games folder. All entries are strings and you have to type the {} around the numbers as well. I reloaded Origin and it was on 'Preparing' for a while but then worked fine. I wasn't able to write the small TM next to the words Mass Effect but that didn't make a difference.

How do you do that registry thing I've tried Regedit and Open Freely, but couldn't locate the right file.

In the meantime I tried everything posted here and in other threads. I updated net framework, my PC-system is always updated anyway, I added the recommended lines into the registry.
Result: The download stops randomly and there is no resume-option. Mostly it stops after some seconds, but the highest I got so far was 99% amd freaking 12 seconds remaining time until it stopped again.
By all appreciation of the community's tipps I ask, if this is not the task of the company which sells the stuff. When I purchased "Ashes"-content yesterday at about 9:00 am, the amount for it was deducted immediatlely form the credit card. Shouldn't they be as quick to come up with a solution?
If I remember correctly, it was never an issue to get DLC, when we could just redeem a code and download it from here. Simply the "Origin"- thingie seems to cause problems.
From what I read, it makes no sense at all to call EA-customer service. So the question remains:
What must I, respectively all the folks with the same problem do, to get our payed DLC now and not some day in the future?

Can you tell me how to add that line into registry? That might help in my case since InstallLog show that things go bad when GDF becomes involved:

Have you tried installign DX, Physx and vc manually from the _Installer folder? And I strongly agree with you that EA is slow solving these installation problems and fast to send a bill.

Well, the registry is a complicated thing. I know how to add lines but I don't dare try to explain it here, because if something goes wrong, you have a real problem.
And after all, since when is the user responsible to make stuff like DLC work? I mean, they sell it to us as "DOWNLOADABLE content"; shouldn't they check, if their stuff works?
Shouldn't they at least tell us, how to make it work?
You see numerous threads with the same issue but not a SINGLE reply of someone official. That tells...

Hi,
To enter the lines into the registry just go into [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\BioWare\\Mass Effect 3]
The next two lines were already displayed in the right hand window of regedit
so you right click on the empty space in the right hand window and then go to new and then string, this creates a new entry. you then right click on the entry and go to modify. In the new window you enter the bit before the equals in the top line and the bit after the equals in the bottom line. You dont type the " symbols.
Each line of the data I wrote is a new entry into the registry so you have to create a new string entry for each line.

So... I was a bit worried when blue progress bar just went on and nothing happened. Then I quit and restarted and tried to donwload Fifa manager 2012 (or something like that) And BOOM! All the hell breaks lose! Origin starts to download all the collector's edition material and everyhting is crazy. Then I notice that somethin is different. Got it working. Thank you so much. I can rest easily now. If there is a change in ME3 that will make to do a decision whether that green Thor Asari lives or dies I'll make sure that she survives in your honor.
Cheers.
Cheers.

Lucky you. As I reported before, I added the lines "dedicated internet connection" and "path", anything else was already there.
Only this entry was different:
GameExplorer REG_SZ {41B4918C-A84E-4914-8933-B5EDEA72A8B3}
I didn't dare to touch it, because my main game runs flawlessly and I have no clue, what this line does.
To be more specific about my problem:
I don't mind, when a download stopps for some reasons, as long as I can "resume". This worked for the main download of the game, but NOT for the DLC.
Perhaps someone could give me a hint, what I must do to be able to "resume" again.

Just dropped in to say this worked for me! Just close Origin, right click it from the desktop or program files, and hit "run as administrator".
This link might help for any future origin hangups, too...
