Do you think that Bioware will end up creating the new endings?

Personally, I truly hope Bioware patches Mass Effect 3 with new, and more varied endings in upcoming content. With the petitions gaining publicity http://www.gopetitio...-dlc-patch.html (Has gone up 1300 signatures in 2 days), the user reviews and ratings on Metacritic reflect that also. Not to mention the ****storm being unleashed on the forums and polls. All of which the "Yes we want new ending" options are above 80% and are 100% of the time the majority. http://social.biowar...2&poll_id=29101 and http://social.biowar...06/polls/28989/

DA2, now this.

They can forget me buying anything until they fix the ending with a free DLC.

No. They have our money now, we have no leverage. Also the game got overwhelmingly good reviews from the press. That's all they need. They're a soulless, faceless corporation whose sole reason for existence is to milk us naive customers for our hard-earned cash, then throw us in the garbage. Period.

Every single place I have seen that talks about Mass Effect 3 all agree that the endings were the worst. Everyone thinks the game itself is great, but all that work and effort means NOTHING when the endings are so horrible. They are not even creative. People would have been more happy with the standard, be a hero and live if you work hard enough and here is where everyone is after the events of the game.

The game should have ended with shepard and anderson sitting together, looking out on earth. Then showing the reapers being killed. The endings would have been decided based on the galaxy you had created in the last few games. Like the quarians with peace with the geth would be shown, or simply the geth or the quarians. The krogans having babies, or slowly dying off. And so on. THAT should have been the endings.

Of course they do... they want MORE of our money... which many won't be giving them knowing the ending..Fixing the ending gives the franchise a longer shelf life. therefore, more chances to make money... It's in their interest to make a better ending.

No.
The endings are done. They are fine in my opinion, we don't need a fairytale ending.

I would like to have one illogical issue to be fixed though, characters showing up on the Normandy who have no real way of being there. That was a major oversight in my opinion.
I'd also like to have an explanation of what the Normandy was doing there at all, as it didn't make sense to me either, but honestly I don't see it happening.

I completely agree with you Sashimi. I wanted a happy Disney ending. I don't know why people have such a problem with it, I don't give a damn about "realism". I play video games to ESCAPE from the real world, not kicked back into it by a big steel toe boot.

I actually found this edited ending to fit perfectly.

I hope not. I hope they focus on fixing and patching whatever bugs and glitches there are still active in the game. If after that they feel like doing an extra ending, fine. Never before.

No, I don't think they will. The endings are junk, and I need my fairy tale ending, but I'm reconciled to the fact that I won't get it. I'm still mad, and I won't be playing ME3 again for some time, if ever, but they won't care. They got my 80 bucks for the CE.

And there are too many questions by the end that you need answered. And your decisions make absolutely no effect because in the end everything is doomed anyway. That was the whole POINT of Mass Effect, it was a game of decisions. Turns out it's a game about decisions, until the last 5 minutes of the game. I loved Mass Effect 2 days ago, I got CHILLS just hearing about when Mass Effect 3 is coming out. But in the matter of two days, I could care less about its existance. The ending truly ruined the entire series for me :/

I think those should happen first, but really, if you like what happened, why care if people want an extra one that you don't even have to choose?

I hope so, but I'm skeptical.

It's probably gonna take having all ME3 future DLC selling like crap to make Bioware come around.

I just don't understand the whole segment with The Catalyst. Why couldn't it have at least ended with Shepard and Anderson sitting there on the Citadel? Even if they died together or survived.

I got en epic chill down my back when (I think it was) Anderson who said "..Hell of a view." and Shepard said "Best seats in the house." That was EPIC to me. Right there I felt like it was one hell of a damn fight, but we made it. The Crucible could have just been activated there, and simply shut down the Reaper's shields and barriers so the Armies of the Galaxy could penetrate the Reaper defenses and destroy the Reaper threat once and for all.

Sure, it's a take from the Independence Day film, but still completely fitting to me. Then the Alliance could find Shepard and Anderson there on the Citadel afterwards, rescue them, apply medical attention, etc, and bring them back to Earth. It would just be so damn awesome if it ended that way.

I would play all three games countless times over the next few months and even years if it ended that way. It just makes a hell of a lot more sense than the Catalyst/AI/Synthetic God concept. Just my thoughts.

I hope so, but I don't think they will, I will admit that I want a happy ending for Shepard, because I feel like the message in ME isn't "Hope, and hard-work can accomplish anything", no, now it's "You can try all you want, work all you want, and hope all you want, but if that's not what someone else wants for you, you're dead, so fall in line and accept your fate." and it's so idiotic, that this message could change in a matter of minutes in a game, but Bioware doesn't care now that it's said and done, with the reviews and such, people will buy the game, it doesn't matter if they replay it or not, they have their money, and we have our ending(s).

I doubt it, I'm pretty sure they'll stick their fingers in their ears and write everyone (look around, it's not just BSN) off as non-fans, haters, and idiots who just don't understand.

Why would that matter after the ending, after that I think I can speak for the majority that there would be absolutely no reason to play it, or multiplayer, sure they should fix bugs, but it won't really matter.

They should have made the endings better, though I can understand some having to do with Shepard dieing, like if your galatic readiness wasn't very high or choosing one of the options, but having him/her die even if you do all the side missions or having all the options where Shepard dies is just eh. They could have had one where the Mass Relays where not destroied, Shepard and whoever s/he romanced with are on either Earth or the others homeworld, even a remote colony, maybe even Shepard's retirement home you get if you complete Pinnacle Station back in Mass Effect 1. Showing how in later years, the galaxy was still working together, the Geth and Quarians allies, or if you decided to kill one for the other, show what Rannoch looks like then, same goes with the Krogan.

It was about the time that my Shepard and Garrus decided to see who was the best shot on the Citadel that I started to realize that Shepard might not make it out of this game alive, I was right.

Though the ending where you do destroy the reapers and had high enough galactic readiness did show Shepard breathing was interesting, but still Shepard is now on Earth, or the Citadel which was badly damaged, how would anyone know where to look for him/her?

*Note* The Mass Relays wouldn't be rebuilt after a few years, they don't even know how they were created.

Also the fact that it turns out that Saren and Sovereign were correct... It's really anti-climactic. Not to mention Vigil's speech on Illos was inspiring and powerful.

I'm just going to answer the simple question that this thread asks with "In my opinion no, they will not and if they do it will be some pi** poor excuse and they will say well thats it deal with it."

Yes, because money. Also the fact that almost everything they said about the endings turned out to be the opposite of what it was.

This, sadly. :(

And Gamestop screwed me over, so i ended up with two CE's. Jokes on them -- I'm selling the other for profit.

Not going to happen, would involve them admitting they really messed up and I doubt they do. Especially since they probably think this was a really artistically clever move.

and it is artisticly clever, but not for a piece of interactive fiction. We need a sense of acomplishment. This would make a good ending for a book or movie, not a game... We want to be the hero of Earth, not help it burn
